St. Luke's Episcopal Church was established in 1838 in Brockport, NY and has a long history of community outreach and social ministry. Over its 180 year history, the church has expanded its building, started programs like the Crypt Coffee House and Food Shelf, and remains actively involved in causes like Amnesty International and supporting local migrant workers. St. Luke's rich history reflects the growth of Brockport and changes in the Episcopal church over two centuries.
You will learn about public holidays in Britain (New Year's, St. Patrick's Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday, May Day Holiday, Summer Bank Holiday, Orangemen's Day, St. Andrew's Day, Christmas)
Some scholars say Father’s Day can be traced to over 4,000 years ago to the ruins of Babylon. There is recorded a young boy called Elmesu, who carved a Father’s Day message on a card made out of clay, wishing his father good health and long life. From this point on, several countries around the globe have remained in this custom of celebrating fathers.
Geore Muller was a man of great faith in the God who he came to trust as a young man after having lived for most of his youth as a self-inteerested cheat and liar.
He is best known for his tireless work in establishing an orphanage in Bristol to care for thousands of children.
He never once asked for money or made an appeal of any kind but rather waited on God in prayer.
His prayers were answered in many, many ways and as a result unwanted children were loved and cared for and he was able to also set up a great work in distributing Bibles and christian literature throughout the world.
George Muller lived and died trusting in God alone to provide for his every need - in Christ alone, by faith alone.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
