Answers Corporation | IT: contracting
Answers Corporation (NASDAQ: ANSW) laid off 100 employees in July. However in March, CEO David Karandish said Answers planned to create 29 finance jobs in
St. Louis. The search engine company has headquarters at 6665 Delmar Boulevard, on the Delmar Loop in St. Louis.
LockerDome | Social Media: expanding
St. Louis startup LockerDome has outgrown its 7,000 square-foot headquarters at 1221 Washington Avenue and is looking to double its footprint on the same street.
The social media company has created 20 new jobs in St. Louis and plans to have more than 50 employees by the end of 2015.
Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals | Pharmaceuticals: contracting
French pharmaceutical research company, Guerbet Group, bought Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals’ contrast media and delivery systems business for $270 million.
The acquisition will affect 1,000 Mallinckrodt jobs worldwide and 50 employees in Mallinckrodt’s headquarters at 675 McDonnell Boulevard in Hazelwood.
Nike | Retail: expanding
Shaw Park Plaza in Clayton has been chosen as the location for Nike’s new innovation showroom for displaying the latest sportswear products. Lease terms were
undisclosed. Asking rent at Shaw Park Plaza is $31.00 per square foot, and most tenants in the building provide financial and business services.
ProPharma | Biotechnology: expanding
Kansas-based ProPharma Group signed a 5-year lease for 6,300 square feet of Class-A space in Riverport Lakes West at 13801 Riverport Drive. The office will be
a medical information contact center with 10 employees and will grow to 36. ProPharma is an international company providing services to pharmaceutical,
biotechnology, and medical device sectors.
SM-T.E.H. Realty | Multifamily: expanding
Israel-based SM-T.E.H. Realty recently bought the Bridgeport Crossing South apartment complex at 3841 Brittany Circle in Bridgeton, Missouri, from Brittany Sobery
FLP for $8.7 million. SM-T.E.H. Realty has purchased two other apartment complexes in North County within the last year: 272-unit Springwood Apartments for $6.1
million and 201-unit Brighton Apartments for $6 million.
Square | IT: expanding
Square, maker of payment technology that allows smartphones to process credit and debit cards, is hiring 7 support and administrative roles in St. Louis. The
company, founded in St. Louis, has a total of 1,000 employees nationwide, including at least 3 software engineers in St. Louis.

Mid America Logistics | Logistics: expanding
Fenton-based freight brokers and asset-based freight services company, Mid America Logistics, has received incentives through the Missouri Works program to add
127 new jobs to its current payroll of 48 in the next 3 years. Company headquarters are in the Bank of America Building, a Class B office at 900 S Highway Drive in
Fenton. Mid America’s revenue target for 2015 is $54.2 million, more than double last year’s revenue of $26.8 million.
Panattoni Development Co. | Illinois Industrial: expanding
Lakeview Commerce Center in Edwardsville, Illinois, will have a fourth building by February 2016, bringing the park’s total space to over 3.3 million square feet.
Panatonni Development Company is planning a $40 million industrial facility of 769,500 square feet, with ability to expand to 1.3 million square feet for an extra $30
million. Industrial spec development in Metro East is on the rise; in April 2015, Saddle Creek Corp leased space in a 700,000 square-foot, $20 million spec building
at Gateway Commerce Center just to the south.
