•SSG was
 started in
 1950.
“Close quarter
 battle ” was
 build and
 “Col. Grant ”
 was the first
 commander
 of the school.
•   After one year due to some reasons
    school was shifted to “Attock kaklan ” in
    1951 and “Col. Kahoon ” became the
    commander.

•   In close quarter school use of different
    Arms like, Judo, Map reading, Explosive
    were taught to them.
•   In 1952 the
    school was
    closed and
    the GHQ got
    the authority
    to train the
    Commandos.
•   The New
    name was
    “312
    Garrison
    Company”.
•    In 1953 the
     Responsibility
     to train that
     company gone
     to
    “Lt. Col A O
     Mitha”.
SSG became
famous when first
time in
“Vulcan Exercise ”
in 1954 they proof
 there skills
 and bravery.
In EX-Handicap
  in 1954 the
  commander n
  chief M. Ayub
  khan first
  time admired
  the bravery
  of
  Commandos.
•   In 1954 the
    name
    changed to
    “Special
    services
    Group”.
•In
 1956, Charat
 Became the
 head quarter
 of SSG,
”The Eagles
 nest”.
TRAINING
   Charat is the house
    of commandos.
    Where strong
    bodies and mind
    get trained to
    sacrifice for nation.
These
 Commandos
 are the
 beauty of
 Forces and
 sign of our
 strong
 nation. Dusk
 and ugly
 season are
 the Friend of
 a Good
 Commando.
EQUIPMENT
 The SSG is equipped with an array of
  modern weapons which includes:
 HK G3.
 Rifles and Sub-machine guns.
 With Sniper or Marksman role, the SSG
  CT (Counter-Terrorism) teams are
  equipped with Barrett M82,Finnish
  Tikka bolt-action rifles.
RECENT ACTIVITIES

   Recently, SSG has been active in anti-
    terrorist operations in Pakistan's Restive
    western borders with Afghanistan.

   In the operation of GHQ in Rawalpindi and
    also in the PNS Mehran operation.
ORGANIZATION
 Pakistani special forces have 10 battalions:
 1st Commando Yildiram Battalion
 2nd Commando Rahbar Battalion
 3rd Commando Powindah Battalion
 4th Commando Yalghar Battalion
 5th Commando Zalzaal Battalion
 6th Commando Samsaam Battalion
 7th Commando Zarrar Battalion (Anti-
  terrorism)
 8th Commando Janbaz Battalion
 9th Commando Battalion
 10th Commando Battalion
ORGANIZATION

   Each Battalion consists of 700 men in
    four companies, with each company
    split into platoons and then into 10-
    men team. Battalions are commanded
    by Lieutenant Colonels.

    Musa Company - Specializes in
     Amphibious Operations.

    Zarrar Company - Specializes in
     Counter-terrorism.
