Introduction
We carried out several activities in collaboration with
Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and supported by Petronet LNG,
Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, Indian Oil, Oil
India, Central Warehousing Corporation, Bombay Stock
Exchange, TATA Equity Fund and others
The programmes conducted were as follows:-
•Round Table Conference on Social Protection Floor with special
emphasis on Food Security, at Bangalore. 14th March 2014.
•Round Table Conference on Occupational Disease (OSH) and Health
Protection in Delhi. 11th July 2014.
•Round Table on Social Security and Statutory Rights of Migrant
Workers at Jaipur on 13th October 2014.
Programmes
Annual General Meeting
Annual General Meeting was held on 24th April 2014 in
New Delhi. Dr. A.K.Balyan chaired the meeting. Four new
members were elected to fill up the existing vacancies in
the Governing Body
Partners’ Meet
Annual Partners’ Meet was held on 31st October and
1st November 2014 in Mumbai by FES.
Secretary General presented an activity report of the
Association and focused on-
Issue of protection of real value of pension for the EPS
pensioners.
Study of the functioning of the Construction Workers
Welfare Boards in various states.
Regional Conference on SPF Asia Forum
On invitation of FES, Secretary General participated in the
Regional Conference of Asia Forum on Social Protection
Floor organized by the former on 4-5 Nov 2014 at Ulaan
Bataar,Mongolia.
Presented a report on economic concept of growth and social
security programmes in India in general and three success
stories.
EPS 1995 Study
Further status report on EPS 1995 study.
First two recommendations made therein, viz., raising minimum level of
pension and enhancing wage ceiling implemented.
Recommendation on indexation of pension presented to the Ministry of Labour
with a financial model showing the proposal financially viable..
The proposal has also been sent to the CBT Members belonging to Employees’
and Employers’ groups for considering the same formally in the CBT.
