This document compares various undesirable jobs in different countries and encourages the reader to appreciate their own job. It states that rather than disliking one's job, one should be glad they are not an electrician in China, a plumber in Hungary, a delivery service employee in Korea, a deodorant tester in Germany, a zoo keeper in America, a horse whisperer in England, or a ditch digger in Poland. It also mentions that the worst job would be a mobile toilet. The document concludes by telling the reader to be thankful for their job and to hurry back to it.
This document discusses several sea creatures including starfish, sea anemones, seahorses, and sea dragons. Starfish have no eyes or brains but eat shellfish with their mouth. Sea anemones sting their prey and drag it to their mouth to eat. Seahorses live in shallow tropical and temperate waters.

RRR Niobium Seamless Cavities (Roy Crooks - 20')
Speaker: Roy Crooks - Black Laboratories | Duration: 20 min.
Abstract
Roy Crooks, Black Laboratories, L.L.C., Newport News, VA, USA
Waldemar Singer, DESY, Hamburg, Germany
Conventional welding of half-cells deep-drawn from niobium sheet may generate flaws near the cavity equators which limit cavity performance. Cavities have been produced from RRR niobium tube by a combination of spinning and hydroforming, using the facilities at DESY. Seamless cavities were manufactured from tubes produced by two different methods, based on pipe spun from plate and on pipe back-extruded from ingot (at ATI Wah Chang). The microstructures resulting from the two fabrication methods are described, along with SRF properties from recent tests on prototype ILC cavities.
Tippi is a French girl born in 1990 in Africa who grew up in the wild, as her parents are wildlife photographers. She returned to Paris at age 10 after being raised in Africa by her photographer parents.
The document is song lyrics questioning humanity's treatment of the Earth and the consequences of environmental destruction. It asks what happened to promises of progress and gains, references killing fields and spilled blood, and notes the Earth's crying and weeping in response to the damage inflicted. The lyrics call attention to the harm people have caused the world and ask us to consider our actions.
The document discusses key events leading up to and during the US involvement in World War 2. It describes how Germany's control of Europe left Britain alone against Hitler, leading the US to support Britain through Lend-Lease. Japan's increasing expansionism and America's response through sanctions and embargoes escalated tensions. On December 7th 1941, Japan launched a devastating surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, bringing the US fully into the war against Germany and Japan. The US mobilized its massive industrial capacity and citizens contributed to the war effort through rationing, victory gardens, working in factories, and serving in newly integrated military units.
The document provides vocabulary terms and definitions from the film "An Inconvenient Truth" about global warming. It includes a matching exercise to connect 20 vocabulary words and phrases with their meanings, such as matching "an iconic image" with "an important picture" and "scientific consensus" with "majority of scientists agree." It also includes pre-watching and post-watching discussion questions about evidence and effects of global warming and actions that can be taken to address it.
Natural Park of DOÑANA
The Natural Park of DOÑANA is located in southern Europe and is an exceptional area of Mediterranean flora and fauna. It is covered with marshlands, dunes, and thickets, and provides a home for species like lynxes, imperial eagles, and many birds. The document then outlines plans for a group of farmers and breeders to start new sustainable agricultural activities in the area, such as growing crops, raising livestock, beekeeping, tourism, and reforestation, while protecting the natural environment.
The document discusses polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which are formed during incomplete combustion and contain multiple benzene rings. PAHs are emitted from sources like coal combustion, vehicle exhaust, and biomass burning. They can exist in both vapor and particle phases depending on their vapor pressure. Common techniques for sampling PAHs include collecting particles on filters and vapors on adsorbents like polyurethane foam. Proper sampling and storage methods are needed to minimize PAH degradation prior to analysis.
Blake Mycoskie started TOMS Shoes in 2006 after seeing children in Argentina without shoes. For each pair of shoes purchased, TOMS donates a pair of shoes to a child in need as part of their "One for One" model. Many children in developing countries grow up without shoes, putting them at risk for disease and injury and making it difficult to attend school. TOMS shoes have become popular among college and high school students in part because buying a pair also helps children, and the company hasn't spent money on traditional advertising.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive functioning. Exercise causes chemical changes in the brain that may help protect against mental illness and improve symptoms.
