Dell Active System 800 Converged Infrastructure solution: User collaboration ...Principled Technologies
When searching for a converged infrastructure solution to quickly deploy to your data center, choosing a complete solution that requires no additional testing and configuration before deployment can be a great asset to your organization. An easy-to-deploy, highly scalable solution that has the ability to meet your workload requirements and provides administrators with flexibility is vital to running an efficient data center.
In our tests, the Dell Active System 800 provided ample performance to drive the needs of a 1,000-person organization using multiple collaboration applications and order-processing applications, even using only two Dell PowerEdge M620 blade servers in the configuration. Adding more I/O intensive workloads to the configuration and placing power caps on the servers did not negatively affect performance; the Dell Active System 800 was able to perform well for all end-users while providing flexibility for administrators.

Even this session is dedicated for beginners, we going a little deeper than You expected. In a first part of my session we executing a short version of SWOT analyze, in a second we trying touch the sky, and at the end we discuss about our (the SQL DBA's), future.
VMmark 2.5.2 virtualization performance of the Dell Storage SC4020 arrayPrincipled Technologies
The Dell Storage SC4020 array, paired with a cluster of Dell PowerEdge M620 servers, ran 30 VMmark tiles totaling 240 running VMs, and achieved a score of 31.35@30 tiles. This performance, along with its value and ease of management, make the Dell Storage SC4020 array an excellent investment.

Business-critical applications on VMware vSphere 6, VMware Virtual SAN, and V...Principled Technologies
Moving to the virtualized, software-defined datacenter can offer real benefits to today’s organizations. As our testing showed, virtualizing business-critical applications with VMware vSphere, VMware Virtual SAN, and VMware NSX not only delivered reliable performance in a peak utilization scenario, but also delivered business continuity during and after a simulated site evacuation.
Using this VMware Validated Design with QCT hardware and Intel SSDs, we demonstrated a virtualized critical Oracle Database application environment delivering strong performance, even when under extreme duress.
Recognizing that many organizations have multiple sites, we also proved that our environment performed reliably under a site evacuation scenario, migrating the primary site VMs to the secondary in just over eight minutes with no downtime.
With these features and strengths, the VMware Validated Design SDDC is a proven solution that allows for efficient deployment of components and can help improve the reliability, flexibility, and mobility of your multi-site environment.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Largest SQL Server event worldwide2000+ attendeesSeattle, WA – Nov 2-5Solid exec supportKeynotes by Bob Muglia, Ted Kummert, Tom Casey, and David DewittDrive SQL Server 2008 momentumCreate mindshare for SQL Server 2008 R2
The “hero” offering that we’ll really sell broadly is SQL Server 2008 R2. You’ll notice that the messaging pillars for R2 are aligned with the Trusted, Productive, Intelligent messaging pillars for SQL Server 2008.To provide a comprehensive view of the R2 release (especially for SA discussions) this slide focuses on the key technology investments for each of the pillars. Trusted, Scalable Platform, it’s important to re-emphasize the enterprise-level security, high availability and scale delivered in SQL 2008 for mission critical applications. What’s new to the R2 release is StreamInsight for Complex Event Processing, Master Data Services for data consistency across heterogeneous systems, SQL Server support for up to 256 Logical Processors – providing greater flexibility in hardware choice, and enhanced data compression including Unicode compression for greater storage efficiency.IT & Developer Efficiency, the release-defining scenarios for R2 are Virtualization and Multi-server Management to increase IT productivity and reduce data management costs. This is enabled by the new manageability enhancements delivered in Management Studio plus R2 support for Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V Virtualization and Live Migration. With R2, we introduce a new concept to the market, a single unit of deployment which will significantly increase the efficiencies around data-tier application deployments and upgrades resulting in dramatically streamlined consolidation and management efforts. Managed Self Service BI – Self-service analytics is delivered with PowerPivot – which is about enabling users to get the data they need without IT having to do a 6-month project to create a new application. PowerPivot gives users the power and flexibility to take internal data, integrate it with other information – and within Excel do all the slicing and dicing you need to get to the view of information you really need for decision making. This is all done “in memory” through really high compression in RAM – which is very powerful. None of the other major BI vendors can do this. User can easily share their application with others by publishing it to SharePoint.Once published, there’s a PowerPivot Operations Dashboard in SharePoint that provides IT Pros with the ability to manage business intelligence through SharePoint like it was just another service they provide. This new dashboard allows IT Pros to look at which reports are being run, who’s running them, how often are they running them, is the server being over utilized, how can I move the app dynamically to another server…BI is basically another managed object for IT. The reports the users publish is the object and we enable IT to understand how it is being used and apply rules and policies to that.
