1. Sport is Life for PE Teachers

Sport is the life of physical education teachers. No matter what the
teachers do for the moment, they would stop just because of it. Whenever their
expertise in sports is required, they would be there in just an instant, that’s how
they love sports. Not many people are endowed with the skill and the talent to
play any game with precision but the physical education teacher.
Sometimes, PE teachers forget about their love life too because of sports.
They’d rather be with the balls, the rackets, and the goals than with someone
else, because sport is life for them. In fact, they would wake up so early to jog
and go home late to rehearse. All these they would so love to do for sport is life
to these PE teachers.
The PE teachers’ dedication over sports is incomparable. Their passion to
teach young people about sports is beyond measure. When they teach sports
to the students, they don’t just teach them how to play games but how to love
them and that is far more important. Loving the sports that one is inclined to is
more essential than just knowing how to do it. That is how PE teachers love the
way they do because sport is their life.

2. Why Sportsmanship is Important among Young People

Sportsmanship is paramount whenever a game is played between two
teams. The term sportsmanship is defined as fair play, respect for opponents, and
polite behavior by someone who is competing in a sport or other competition. It
is graciousness in winning or losing.
Not many young people know what sportsmanship is all about. Why?
Because most of teenagers play for fame and prestige and they forget the value
of sportsmanship because of these. Teenagers, first and foremost, must learn fair
play in all types of games that they play. Fair play can be achieved when first
players must respect ground rules and play clean. This is manifested through
adherence to game officials, coaches, and the game organizers even if when
during the play, they observe inconsistencies. Players have to stay fair.
Second, sportsmanship is respecting the opponents. This can be done by
respecting the race, ethnicity, and the entire personal being of the opponent.
So that this can be achieved, bullying other opponents because of the color of
their skin, the ragged clothes they put on, and the conked out shoes they wear
must be avoided. They are players too even if they may not be as neat as other
young players in the court may be.
Third is by behaving politely during the games. This can be done by not
using foul words whenever one misses a shot, a bat, or a goal. Also, by not
shouting at sports officials, organizers, and other adults during the games is also a
sign of respect. Young people must understand that the value of respect is more

3. important than fame and prestige because when one is humble and down, he
will be praised by many.
Lastly, sportsmanship is graciousness in winning or losing. A young man
must learn to understand that in sports, there is always a winner and a loser.
Wherever he may be then in the sports that he plays, it is important to stay calm
when they are defeated and stay low when they conquer. It is important to be
humble because nobody loves an arrogant person.
Sportsmanship is what makes a man a true sports-minded person for it is
now how many games you win in sports but it’s how many times you lost but
emerged victorious because of right conduct in the court or in the field. This is
what young people who love sports must learn.

4. From the Point of View of a Basketball Coach

I would say that basketball has become my first love. I have been trained
by my teachers when I was in college how it is to play basketball and that’s the
beginning of my passion towards it. From then on, I have not only learned how
the game is played but I learned more importantly, the love over the game.
When I became a teacher, I was given the opportunity to coach a basketball
team. This whole journey of coaching is never easy. There were times when we
win but there are more times that we lost. And then on, I have sworn to become
better in this field.
I have trained both young adults and teenagers alike in basketball. I
would say I taught them discipline. I saw my players play basketball in the court
and I must say I have taught them discipline. They do not only follow rules in the
court but they also know respect and humility. When I watch them play, I could
tap myself in the shoulder and say, “nice one, coach” because I know from my
players’ skills that they improved a lot and from their behavior that they have
grown to be fine men in the basketball court.
More importantly, I have developed friendship with my players. All the
moments we are together during trainings, we spent them with fun, laughter and
enjoyment. This I would say I have fulfilled my life-long dream of becoming a
fulfilled basketball coach to my players and my players to come. This is a point to
ponder for those aiming to become one of the best coaches: it is not winning
that is important it is how your players will play the game with passion and
discipline that counts.

5. The Ball is Round

The saying that “ball is round” can be likened to an old idiom that says
“the world is round”. This means that a person should not be always so sure to
believe that he or she will stay in the same place where he or she is at the
moment. The circumstances where we are at this very moment would not
always be the same.
In sports, this line would be so important. More than the will to win is the
will to accept that in playing sports there would also be losing. And that is what
one should learn to accept. There is no “in between” when playing a game,
there’s only winning or losing. What is important is we learn to accept defeat
with gracefulness.
That is why, when we teach our kids how to win a game, we should also
teach them how to lose gracefully because the ball is round and the
circumstances are not always to our favor. We need to prepare them to
instances like these so that it would be easy for them to accept defeat.
All because the ball is round!
