Badminton is one of the fastest racquet sports played on a court with distinct singles and doubles boundaries. It uses a rally point scoring system where either player can score on each point regardless of who serves. Servers are initially determined by how a tossed shuttlecock lands, and serving order alternates based on winning or losing a rally. Successful shots include high serves to keep opponents back, drop shots to catch them off guard, and smashes attacked to the sides of the court. Defense involves returning shots high or with drop shots to regain position.
