"I honestly haven’t paid attention to a pop-up alert in years," says Halpern, who like many doctors believes that alerts should be limited only to those that might help avoid a serious medical error. "I just click right through them as quickly as possible and I think most doctors do the same thing," he says. Dr. Scott Halpern Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania

Editor's Notes

  • #30 SpeechMagic It is the tool that is on the way to cover exactly this process: It creates a communication of the authors thoughts/information Currently we can do already speech to text. But not only that Also more intelligent stuff like automatic punctuations (who wants to dictate new-line or comma?) and automatic header recognition go into the direction of understanding YOUR meaning! Professional authors don‘t want to think about their information. They just want to dump their brain as fast as possible. They want to move on to their next task. However, as pointed out before it is essential to have a structured report to communicate the findings The SpeechMagic competitors mainly focus on WYSIWYG They speech enable things. Authors are forced to look at the PC screen to write down their information. They can not act freely. But they need to be able to do so if they should CREATE valuable information! Now we know what is important. But where are we today and where will we be tomorrow?
