Specticle is a broad-spectrum pre-emergent herbicide that controls many annual grasses and broadleaf weeds for 3-8 months with a single application. It has low use rates compared to other herbicides, provides enduring control with minimal odor or residue, and works on a variety of turfgrass types. Specticle offers turf managers an effective new tool for reducing weed pressure and managing budgets with fewer applications over the growing season.

We believe that crops grown on soil with optimal biology will yield more abundantly. Soil biology is required for minerals to be released for plant absorption, and abundant bacterial populations are required to achieve abundant fungal populations. Fall soil regeneration applications can build key soil biological and microbial populations faster than any other method. Complete video presentation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtV1s1mPvmQ
Learn why microbial populations are crucial to the success of your crop, how to attend to the microbial life in your soil, what you can do to start reaping the benefits from a lively microbial population next season, and how improving soil health can address:
• Disease carryover
• Soil compaction
• Lack of crop vigor
• Lack of crop response to nutrient applications
• Undigested crop residue

GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

2. Top Facts About Specticle
Broad-spectrum Control
Specticle controls a variety of annual grassy weeds, including bluegrass, Poa
annua, goosgrass and crabgrass. It also offers pre-emergent control of more
than 60 broadleaf weeds including eclipta, oxalis, dandelion, plantain, doveweed,
bittercress, clover, lespedeza, spurge, annual sedges and kyllingas.
3. Top Facts About Specticle
Enduring Control
You can trust Specticle to provide long-term weed control–even in difficult
conditions–for three to eight months, depending on the rate used.
4. Top Facts About Specticle
Applicator Friendly
Unlike other pre-emergent herbicides, Specticle will not stain or leave any odor
behind after application. In addition, Specticle may be combined with many post-
emergent herbicides to control existing weeds.
5. Top Facts About Specticle
Environmental Advantage
With Specticle, you achieve more while applying less. Specticle's use rates are
up to 40 times less than current standards, and it still provides longer residual
control.
6. Chemical Structure

activated by rainfall or
irrigation. After activation,
Specticle is distributed into the
soil.
9. Mode of Action
Weed Germination
Weed seed begins to
germinate and roots absorb
Specticle. Cellulose
biosynthesis is inhibited and
seedling growth stops. Unable
to develop roots and grow, the
weed seedling dies.
10. Resistance Management
There have been no documented cases of Specticle resistance to date.
Field tests have also shown that Specticle can control ALS, triazine,
dinitroaniline, and glyphosate-resistant weed species with no signs of
cross-resistance.
There are no known cases of resistance in monocotyledon grasses and
dicotyledonous weeds where herbicides containing CBI compounds were used.
Key examples of resistance documented in turfgrass include:
Poa annua: resistant to dinitroaniline, prodiamine, pendimethalin, oryzalin, and
triazine (atrazine and simazine) herbicides and dithiopyr.
Goosgrass: resistant to dinitroanilines and dithiopyr.
11. Weed Control

total weed control.
25. Testimonials
Kevin Baldwin
Golf Course Superintendent
Stoney Brook Golf Club at Heritage Harbour
Bradenton, Fla.
"I tried treating for Poa annua with a number of products before using
Specticle herbicide, and the best coverage I could achieve was 85
percent. With Specticle, I had 100 percent control for the entire winter
season with only one application–October through April."
"Specticle herbicide's eight-month control is unparalleled."
26. Testimonials
Tom Alex
Director of Golf Course Management
Grand Cyprus Golf Club
Orlando, Fla.
"Specticle gives me season-long control where you never see the
weeds emerge. It works so well; it's an 'apply it and forget it' type of
product. We don't have to worry about the weed pressure, and it's
wonderful. I was able to maintain 100 percent control with two
applications–one in the winter and another in the spring. After each
application, we didn't see any discoloration or stunting of growth, only
that we were weed-free."
27. Testimonials
Tom Alex
Director of Golf Course Management
Grand Cyprus Golf Club
Orlando, Fla.
"In the past year, my control on weeds has been absolutely
phenomenal. Specticle produced better results than any product I
used before. I can get 365 days-worth of control when applying
Specticle in the winter and spring. Specticle is changing the game for
pre-emergent herbicides with its rates and length of control. I've been
able to control 100 percent of my problems with Specticle."
28. Testimonials
Darren Davenport
Golf Course Superintendent
Forest Hills Golf Club
Augusta, Ga.
"For 11 years, I have been trying to control the Poa on our course by
applying every product you can imagine with no effect. Last September, I
applied Specticle herbicide to one of the most affected areas on the
course–a wide-open, wet fairway. After that one application of Specticle, I
had 95 percent weed (or poa) control that continued through the spring.
The other areas of my course, which were treated with different products,
started showing signs of Poa coming through in January. By incorporating
Specticle as the basis of my herbicide program, I'm now looking at having
the best control I've ever had while cutting my post-emergent product
costs by 25 percent."
29. Formulation
Specticle is formulated as a 20% wettable powder. Packaging will be available in
two easy-to-use, premeasured sizes.
Product Characteristics: Beige powder packaged in a PVA (water-soluble packet)
•Very low odor

herbicide applications.
Specticle delivers the lowest amount of active ingredient of any pre-emergent
herbicide currently used in turf.
Because Specticle carries a caution label, you can trust that you will have a
reduced risk to your applicators, golfers and homeowners.
Labor and fuel savings are apparent as a result of a reduced number of
applications.
New mode of action provides turf managers with a new tool to help manage
weed resistance.
