On Line Training of the Path-Loss Model in Bayesian WLAN Indoor Positioninglbruno236
This document summarizes research on using received signal strength (RSS) from WiFi access points for indoor positioning. It describes using a Bayesian filter to simultaneously estimate path loss parameters (transmit power and decay exponent) and user position from RSS measurements. A Rao-Blackwellized particle filter is implemented where path loss parameters are marginalized out. Simulations show the approach improves localization accuracy compared to fixed parameter methods. Experimental results using RSS from normal building WiFi networks achieved errors of 1-2 meters.
The standard Kalman filter is a filter based on Bayesian filter (3), with two extra assumptions: 1) the process and measurement noises are white and Gaussian, and 2) the process and measurement models are linear. The document derives the prediction and update equations for the Kalman filter, which provide an optimal estimate of the state x given prior state estimates and current measurements. The prediction equations forecast the next state and its covariance. An update is then made using a proportional gain and current measurement to provide a corrected state estimate.
This document discusses likelihood methods for continuous-time models in finance. It describes approximating the transition density function pX of a continuous-time process through a series of transformations to get closer to a normal distribution. This allows representing pX as a series expansion involving Hermite polynomials. Computing the expansion coefficients allows obtaining an explicit closed-form approximation to pX. Maximizing the approximate likelihood results in an estimator that converges to the true MLE as the number of terms increases.

RTH-RSS Mac: Path loss exponent estimation with received signal strength loca...IOSR Journals
The document summarizes a study on integrating received signal strength path-loss exponent (RSS PLE) estimation localization into the Real Time Hybrid MAC (RTHMAC) protocol. RTHMAC combines TDMA and FDMA to provide soft real-time communication for wireless sensor networks. The study develops a new RTH-RSS MAC protocol that replaces the initialization and discovery phases of RTHMAC with an RSS PLE localization technique called IDRSS-PLE. This aims to minimize delay, maximize network lifetime by decreasing energy consumption of nodes. Simulations show that using RSS PLE localization, RTH-RSS MAC is able to achieve less energy consumption and shorter localization response times compared to the classical RTHMAC protocol.

Novel adaptive filter (naf) for impulse noise suppression from digital imagesijbbjournal
In general, it is known that an adaptive filter adjusts its parameters iteratively such as size of the working
window, decision threshold values used in two stage detection-estimation based switching filters, number of
iterations etc. It is also known that nonlinear filters such as median filters and its several variants are
popularly known for their ability in dealing with the unknown circumstances. In this paper an efficient and
simple adaptive nonlinear filtering scheme is presented to eliminate the impulse noise from the digital images with an impulsive noise detection and reduction scheme based on adaptive nonlinear filter techniques. The proposed scheme employs image statistics based dynamically varying working window and an adaptive threshold for noise detection with a Noise Exclusive Median (NEM) based restoration. The intensity value of the Noise Exclusive Median (NEM) is derived from the processed pixels in local
neighborhood of a dynamically adaptive window. In the proposed scheme use of an adaptive threshold value derived from the noisy image statistics returns more precise results for the noisy pixel detection. The
proposed scheme is simple and can be implemented as either a single pass or a multi-pass with a maximum
of three iterations with a simple stopping criterion. The goodness of the proposed scheme is evaluated with respect to the qualitative and quantitative measures obtained by MATLAB simulations with standard images added with impulsive noise of varying densities. From the comparative analysis it is evident that the proposed scheme out performs the state-of-art schemes, preferably in cases of high-density impulse noise
Observability of path loss parameters in wlan based simultaneouslbruno236
This document discusses using received signal strength (RSS) from WiFi access points to perform simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM). It presents a dynamic Bayesian network model that uses a Rao-Blackwellized particle filter to estimate a user's pose and step locations while also estimating parameters of an indoor radio propagation model and maps of access point locations. Experimental results show the approach can solve ambiguity in estimating propagation parameters and accurately estimate maps using only normal WiFi networks during walks of 4-10 minutes in different indoor environments.
We consider a cognitive radio system with one secondary user (SU) accessing multiple channels via periodic sensing and spectrum handoff. We propose an optimal spectrum sensing and access mechanism such that the average energy cost of the SU, which includes the energy consumed by spectrum sensing, channel switching, and data transmission, is minimized, whereas multiple constraints on the reliability of sensing, the throughput, and the delay of the secondary transmission are satisfied. Optimality is achieved by jointly considering two fundamental tradeoffs involved in energy minimization, i.e., the sensing/transmission tradeoff and the wait/switch tradeoff. An efficient convex optimization procedure is developed to solve for the optimal values of the sensing slot duration and the channel switching probability. The advantages of the proposed spectrum sensing and access mechanism are shown through simulations.
The document describes three distributed algorithms for estimating the path loss exponent (PLE) in large wireless networks. The first algorithm uses the mean interference value and assumes knowledge of the network density. The second and third algorithms are based on outage probabilities and connectivity properties, respectively, and do not require knowledge of density or fading parameters. Simulation results demonstrate the performance of the algorithms and quantify the estimation error. The algorithms take into account interference, noise, and fading effects in wireless networks.

1) The document presents the implementation of a Generalized Multiplicative Extended Kalman Filter (GMEKF) for state estimation of a quadcopter using real sensor data. The GMEKF uses quaternion representations and accounts for nonlinearities and sensor noise.
2) Testing the GMEKF on recorded quadcopter flight data showed the filter did not converge, likely due to inconsistencies in the initial sensor and system noise matrices used. Further work is needed to properly implement the GMEKF equations and account for quaternion geometry.
3) Proper implementation of invariant extended Kalman filters like the GMEKF has been shown to provide good state estimation for various quadcopter trajectories by exploiting symmetries in the system dynamics.

This document summarizes an electrical engineering student's final project report on using an Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) to estimate the state of a balancing robot. 1. INLEIDING
Groningse hoogleraar Ben Feringa.
Energietoename per molecuul = energietoename per mol / Avogadro constante
E = 160 E
3
/ 6.02214129 E
23
E = 2.65686227 E
-19
J
Maximale golflengte:
λ = h * c / E Waarbij:
E = energie
h = constante van Planck
c = lichtsnelheid
λ = golflengte
λ = 6.62606957 E
-34
* 3.00 E
8
/ 2.65686227 E
-19
λ = 7.48183635 E
-7
m
λ = 748 nm
KJ/mol.
twee zijgroepen tegenover elkaar staan.
maximale relatieve energie bereikt is).

of terug zal draaien.
