   The scene that I'm analysing from Hunger Games is the ‘girl on
    fire’ scene where Katniss introduces herself to the public

•In the beginning of the scene there is sound bridging as the audience can hear the
     voice of the presenter in the background even though the there are more than one cuts.
     •Overall, sound bridging is presented throughout this scene as the voice of the
     presenter and the audience’s applause continues across more than one cuts

Crowd of             Sound of audience is
                                                 •   The applause of the audience is created using
audience             diegetic
                                                     naturalistic sound effects.
                                                 •   The volume control in the beginning of the scene
                                                     changes from loud to quiet
                                                 •   This change in volume control to show
                                                 •   The applause from the audience is a sound motif as
                                                     we expected to hear cheering and clapping from an
                                                     audience of a game show
•The ambient sound of the crowd’s applause is heard again in the middle of the scene
                                      •The applause from the audience over powers the voice
                                      of the presenter.
                                      •The audience hears sound from Katniss’ perspective.


                                                      •The sound from the skirt is synchronous
                                                      •The sound from the skirt is created by foley
                                                      artists as the sound that the skirt is making whrn
                                                      Katniss’ spins her skirt is non-realisedly




The tone of the dialogue between Katniss and
the presenter has a calm tone
Sound of presenter kissing Katniss’
                           hand is synchronizes with the
                           visuals




The sound of the audience clapping is a sound bridge as they continue
to create sound even where there are cuts
