Michele Phillips completed a summer of service internship with Habitat for Humanity where she planned and executed the grand opening event for the new Apex ReStore location. She worked with the community to obtain sponsors and entertainment for the event, managed communications with staff, and oversaw volunteers. The grand opening was a success, exceeding sales goals and generating donations. Phillips also initiated partnerships with several local non-profits and organizations to further the ReStore's mission and community involvement.
