The aim od this study was to determine which group of health workers was most susceptible to the
burnout syndrome (SQT) in a tertiary hospital care in México City. Method: this was a cross-sectional
study, the study population comprised a representative samples of physicians (26%, n=82), nurses (26%,
n=83), technical assistants medical diagnosis (26%, n=82), social workers (9%, n=30) and janitors (13%,
n=40). the “Cuestionario para la Evaluación del Síndrome de Quemarse por el Trabajo (CESQT).”
Was applied. Results: The mean age was 32.29 years (SD 5.9), the prevalence of burnout was 6.30%
(n = 20), highlighting the group of nurses with the highest percentage (14.4%) and 2 social workers
were serious cases of burnout (6.6%). The subscale of the guilt has significant correlation between
psychological exhaustion (r=0.59, p<0.01)><0.01). Conclusions: The most
susceptible group SQT were the nurses followed by social workers.
