Stuart Coleman from Sony presented on "The Internet of Things" at an ExactTarget marketing conference. He discussed Sony's evolution from focusing only on product launches with minimal automation to more advanced automation, multi-channel marketing, and near real-time data processing. Some of Sony's successes with ExactTarget include 84% higher open rates, 67% higher click rates, and up to 500% more campaigns. The four big challenges going forward are managing data, integrating multi-channel campaigns, technological capabilities, and ensuring the right people and teams are in place.
How far can brand passion take you through creativity?
The project is a personal interpretation of the fashion designer Paul Smith’ texture used as an object of furniture. Upon completion of the renovation of a loft, the intention was to give a, “art and vain” touch to the interior atmosphere. The realization of all the lines was performed by hand maniacally, in which the individual paints are superimposed with different thicknesses in order to avoid an effect like a flat and uniform wallpaper. The final result, especially to the touch, is a kind of 3D wall art in which the texture becomes a symbol of elegance and flair (just like the Paul Smith style and his collections).

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
