quotient of powers
with the same
base.
EXPONENT
It is used to denote large
numbers, very large numbers,
very small numbers, or when a
number is multiplied by itself
repeatedly.
MULTIPLYING POWERS WITH
THE SAME BASE
When two numbers with the same base
but different powers are multiplied, the
product will have the same base and a
power that is the sum of the powers of
the multiplicands. For any non-zero
integer a, and whole numbers m and n:

DIVIDING POWERS WITH THE
SAME BASE
In division involving two numbers with
the same base but different powers, the
power of the quotient is the difference
of the powers of the dividend and
divisor. For non-zero integer a, and
whole numbers m and n such that m > n:
