This document provides instructions for solving three types of linear equations: a 2-step equation, an equation with a fraction, and an equation with a negative coefficient. The steps shown are to isolate the variable by using the opposite operation of any addition/subtraction on one side and then solving for the variable. Care should be taken to properly split variables and numbers when dividing or multiplying. The resulting variable is always positive.
