6. WHY SOLAR WATER HEATING
ELECTRICAL OR NATURAL
GAS WATER HEATING :
Pay 100 % of hot water
gas heating bill .
Surrender to contained
rising energy cost.
Add zero equity to your
home .
Make monthly payment
for
hot water with no return
On investment.
SOLAR WATER HEATING :
Eliminate up to 80 % of
bill.
Enjoy a constant increasing
saving in non taxable
income .
Increase home’s value
through your investment.
Utilize a safe, free , non-
Polutting energy source-
[sun].
7. BASIC COMPONENTS OF SWHS:
FLAT PLATE COLLECTOR.
INSULATED WATER STOREGE TANK.
WELL INSULATED PIPES CONNECTING FLAT PLATE
COLLECTOR AND TO THE STORAGE TANK.
AUXILIARY HEATER (FOR CLOUDY DAYS).
CONTROL OF THE SYSTEM.
8.
9. TYPES OF SOLAR WATER HEATING SYSTEM
SOLAR WATER HEATER SYSTEMS ARE TWO TYPES:
1.CLOSED LOOP
SYSTEM
2.OPEN LOOP
SYSTEM
NATURAL CIRCULATION
SYSTEM
FORCED CIRCULATION
SYSTEM
11. HEAT STORAGE IN THE SYSTEM :
Q
Q=M C (T1-T2)
M
C
T1
T2= COLD WATER TEMPERATURE ( C)
12. ADVANTAGE
These system use solar energy which is a
free and renewable source of energy.
Relatively good payback period.
These system have low maintenance costs.
In sunny and warm places with high
insolation values solar water
heating system are very cost
effective.
13. DISADVANTAGE
The main disadvantage of solar water heating
system is relatively high upfront costs.
In most areas they will require electrical or
gas or other fuel backup during the winter
period .
They require excellent overheating and freeze
protection .
14. CONCLUSION
Source in abundant and inexhaustible in nature so
enjoy with free cost of energy .
Cheaper cost as compare to other heating system .
Due to constraints on energy availability , it is most
suitable .
Keep the environment clean .
