This document describes the design and methodology of a solar battery charger. The solar battery charger uses a solar panel to harness solar energy and charge batteries for powering mobile phones and other devices. It includes a voltage regulator to provide constant voltage charging of the battery. A zener diode is also included to prevent overcharging by shunting current once the battery reaches its cutoff voltage. The solar battery charger provides a clean, renewable way to charge devices using sunlight and has advantages such as portability and not requiring an external power source when outdoors. Some disadvantages are its small power generation capacity and dependence on sunlight. Future work could focus on making the device more portable and able to store and use surplus solar power when sunlight is unavailable
