Sodexo has several requirements for farms seeking to sell produce to them, including being annually audited by a Sodexo-approved third party to ensure good agricultural practices are followed. Farms must also provide $5 million in general liability insurance naming Sodexo as an additional insured, maintain product recall procedures, and indemnify Sodexo against any liability claims related to their product. Additionally, Sodexo requires its approved vendors to use their best efforts to source locally grown products from within the same state or region and provide developmental assistance to local farmers when possible.

"Sodexo encourages participation and growth
opportunities for local farmers and requires that its
produce suppliers use best efforts to provide
developmental assistance to “local” farmers.
Accordingly, Distributor represents to Sodexo that
locally grown products shall be included in its
portfolio of products offered to customers and
delivered to the Accounts when in season to the
extent such local products are available. Sodexo
defines “local” as farmers within the same state or
geographic region."
