SocialNet is a private social network developed by the GRIAL Research Group at the University of Salamanca to allow relatives and authorized persons to monitor the daily progress of patients. It uses Drupal as a content management system and additional modules to provide features like calculating statistical indicators of patient walls and automating workflows. SocialNet allows sharing of pictures, videos and texts about a patient's progress with their private area only accessible to authorized individuals.

White Paper: Great Culture. Great Workplace. Lessons from America’s Best Comp...barbarajahncke
Organizational culture is an untapped, powerful strategic tool in building a successful business today. A company\'s story, its successes, its history and its people influence its culture and can be leveraged to attract employees, intrigue customers and build a tangible connection to a company.
As a seven-time national Best Company to Work for in America and designers of workplace experiences, Kahler Slater knows how important culture is to overall business success. To build upon our knowledge base of working with outstanding companies, we decided to benchmark our peer Best Companies to explore how they intentionally design work experiences and spaces that manifest their great cultures.
We are passionate about sharing this knowledge and applying it to all of the work we do as experience designers.

Humanities Crowdsourcing on the Zooniverse PlatformUCLDH
Zooniverse (https://www.zooniverse.org/) is a world-leading academic crowdsourcing organization based at the University of Oxford, the Adler Planetarium and the University of Minnesota. This talk will provide an overview of the types of metadata extraction and full text transcription projects and tools that are currently available on the platform. It will give an overview of the design and lessons learned from projects such as Operation War Diary, Science Gossip, Shakespeare’s World and Measuring the ANZACs, and suggest ways in which crowdsourced data can be used in the humanities. The talk will also provide an overview of the free Project Builder (https://www.zooniverse.org/lab), where anyone with an internet connection can create their own project and obtain their own data.
The Intersection of Accessibility and Inclusive DesignMichael Larsen
Accessibility and Inclusive Design are complementary initiatives. One makes information and services available to as many people as possible with the use of additional technology where needed. Inclusive Design focuses on making information and services available to as many as possible without having to use external technology. By blending these two initiatives, we can develop software that works better for everyone.
The present study will focus on the problem of computer use by persons with disabilities considered in all its aspects.
In particular it aims at analyzing the power to have the use of resources on the Internet and focuses specifically on the accessibility of social networks, by subjecting to a specific analysis two of the most known and used ones:
Facebook and LinkedIn.
There’s also a careful study on Viadeo accessibility, a social network developed for professional relationships, by using the reference text for developers of contents for the Web: the so-called "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines", better known as WCAG 2.0.
Each statement in the document has been carefully considered and the satisfaction or non-satisfaction of it has been verified and reported.

The evolution of computer technology and Web use practices explains the development of more and more online interactive tools (“e-tools”). The occupational health and safety sector is no stranger to this trend/evolution. Many occupational health and safety actors have already shown interest in the possibilities offered by these new technologies and have over the last years developed such e-tools. These tools are mainly developed with the aim to facilitate compliance with legislation or foster a health and safety culture. This presentation is the summary of an expert workshop held in Paris on 20 October 2014 to discuss about the “e-tools” project. By end 2015 (and based on the feedback received in this workshop and others activities to be carried out throughout 2015) an implementation plan will be developed for the project, identifying the needs and the role of the Agency.
Leading with Technology: Social Media Tools and Mobile Apps for 21st Century...Cheryl Peltier-Davis
There is significant value in using Social Media and Mobile Apps in social, political and economic spheres of activity. Within these areas, social media tools such as Blogs, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook share a common usage in supporting internal communication, collaboration, news aggregation, teaching, learning and knowledge sharing. Are there similar benefits for using social media within the spheres of Leadership and Management in Libraries? How are 21st century Library leaders utilising social media to enhance services in their organisations and connect and communicate with stakeholders? What are the opportunities and challenges associated with using social media in Libraries? This presentation seeks to address these issues.
It highlights some of the core competencies (professional and personal) that is required for library leaders to function effectively in a technologically driven environment and introduces emerging trends and concepts - cloud storage, crowdfunding, makerspaces, MOOCs, news aggregation, photo and video sharing, self-publishing, social networking, video conferencing, visualization - that can be readily adopted and adapted (‘mashed up’) in libraries and other knowledge repositories. The goal is to develop and share a toolkit of resources for 21st century library leaders who are willing to use Social Media and Mobile Apps to engage their communities, reshape and add value to the effective delivery of innovative library services.

Terzaghi's soil bearing capacity theory, developed by Karl Terzaghi, is a fundamental principle in geotechnical engineering used to determine the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. This theory provides a method to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil, which is the maximum load per unit area that the soil can support without undergoing shear failure. 2. Introduction
• Private social network for monitoring daily progress of patients by
their relatives
• The main aim of SocialNet is providing a social interaction context
restricted to relatives and authorized persons by the patient or
his/her legal guardian, in order to they can track the daily progress
of the patient
• Each patient has a private area only accessible to authorized
persons and their caregivers, where they can share pictures, videos
or texts about its progress
• SocialNet is availableonline through http://psiquiatria.grial.eu/en
3. Technology (I)
• SocialNet has been developed bytheGRIAL Research Group from theUniversityof
Salamanca and INTRAS Foundation
• The functional prototypeof SocialNet is based on Drupal (http://drupal.org)
• Content Management System (CMS) that allows extending thefunctionalityof its
core with a hugeamount of modules developed by an activeand open
community
• Developed in PHP
• Deployed with Apacheand Nginx as web servers and MariaDB as database
management system
• Several modules havebeen installed in order to providethe SocialNet features
4. Technology (II)
• Two modules have been developed:
• The first module calculates the statistical indicatorsof each
patient's wall in order to send them automatically to the
concerned stakeholders through the notificationssystem
provided by Drupal
• The second module is centred on automate several workflows
related to the creation of wallsand the access of the patients
and relatives to them
• SocialNet provides a services layer in order to support the
interoperability among other appplications
5. Highlights
• Multilingual support
• The tool is accessible through different devices (smartphones,
tablets, etc.)
• User friendly
• Secure software
• Based on Drupal, a Content Management System (CMS) used by the
European Commission
• High scalability and flexibility degree
8. Private frontpagefor pasive users
• The main page of pasive users
shows the user’s wall with
several publications and the
people who interact inside the
wall, such as relatives, friends,
caregivers.
9. Post on the user’swall (pasive user)
• Relatives and authorized
persons can play two roles
within SocialNet, depending on
the permissions grantedthem
by the caregivers when they
provide them with access to the
wall. They pasive users only can
see the information published by
others on the patient's wall.
12. Private frontpagefor active users
• Authorized persons could
perform different tasks on
patient's wall, such as publishing
an activity, writing comments, or
rating a publication
15. Private frontpagefor caregivers
• The main page of a caregiver
display information about the
walls of the patients that he is in
