The range of digital tools seems to be growing exponentially every day. Mick aims to cut through the digital noise and highlight some ICTs that can help make classroom teaching more efficient, enjoyable and relevant for the students and teacher. This document contains a multiple choice question and rationales from a pediatric radiology exam. The question shows MRI images of a 22-week fetus and asks for the most likely diagnosis. The rationales eliminate the other answer choices of posterior urethral valves, multicystic dysplastic kidneys, and bilateral ureteropelvic junction obstruction. The correct answer is Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease, as the images show enlarged, fluid-intensity kidneys without urine production, typical of this condition.
This document summarizes Kirkwood Hospice's legacy marketing strategy from 2006-2010. It notes that legacy marketing was not addressed from 2006 until 2008 when a legacy page was added to the website. The 2009 strategy aimed to increase legacy income to 30% of voluntary income within 10 years. A budget of £4,809 was allocated in 2009 by reallocating other marketing funds and cancelling a newspaper advertisement. The campaign involved local magazine and bus advertisements. The 2010/11 plan allocated £

Small, local charities have advantages when it comes to legacy marketing that larger charities do not. They are known within their local communities and have existing personal connections that can be leveraged. Legacy marketing for small charities does not need to be expensive; it can utilize local volunteers and resources to create low-cost materials like posters and brochures. Effective legacy marketing communicates the charity's impact and how gifts of any size in wills can help, using stories of real people and clear language. It should engage existing donors and supporters through multiple communication channels on an ongoing basis.

External visibility and impact for researchersClaudia Megele
The document outlines steps researchers can take to increase the external visibility and impact of their research through social media. It discusses moving from being a "digital hermit" with no online presence, to having a moderate online presence by synchronizing across several platforms like Mendeley and ResearchGate. The most engaged level is being a "digital avant-garde" through having one's own website, contributing to collective platforms, creating mashups of academic content and data, and utilizing analytics and open educational resources. Researchers are challenged to raise their digital profile within 1-3 months.
Technologies such as Diigo make it possible to amass a personal library of any size. Having access to the information you need amplifies your memory giving you an outboard brain. The social aspects of Diigo makes it possible to share content amongst like-minded collectors of information.
Klaus Tochtermann presented on science 2.0-enabled paradigms for information delivery. He discussed how the social and semantic web will impact research and publication processes. Specifically, he examined how tools like social media, blogs and wikis can support open science practices. Tochtermann also explored challenges of reputation management, citizen science, open data licensing and ensuring reliability of linked open data. The presentation proposed moving from taking users to content to bringing personalized content to users through viral information delivery enabled by semantic technologies.
