I’m Laura Popovich, a professional who enjoys working within
the non-profit field. My interests include literacy and education.
My passion is to help others achieve their dreams of becoming
literate in that they may obtain gainful employment.
I believe online media is the most effective way to engage with a
community. I am proficient in a variety of media platforms
including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, Youtube,
Tumblr, Wordpress, Snapchat, and Pinterest. I am always eager
to learn the newest media platform and technology. I am
proficient in monitoring analytics through a variety of databases.

Ideas & Execution of Effective Outreach
 These are a few of my core values in regard to effective media outreach:
 Feature people. Example: show volunteers taking action or students
learning.
 Tell an anecdote whether relating to history, a recent event, or a person.
 Build community relations by tagging local businesses.
 Give “behind the scenes access” of events and daily operations.
 Post on holidays or special occasional.
 Engage with hashtag activism if applicable.
 Thanking our audience, vendors, partners, and stakeholders.

 In Jan. 2016 the Woodlawn/PL site had 520 likes. Through
regular postings, I have increased our following by 50%
 I increased our Instagram audience rise by 200+ followers.
Twitter saw an increase of roughly 270 followers.

  • 2. + Insight I’m Laura Popovich, a professional who enjoys working within the non-profit field. My interests include literacy and education. My passion is to help others achieve their dreams of becoming literate in that they may obtain gainful employment. I believe online media is the most effective way to engage with a community. I am proficient in a variety of media platforms including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, Youtube, Tumblr, Wordpress, Snapchat, and Pinterest. I am always eager to learn the newest media platform and technology. I am proficient in monitoring analytics through a variety of databases.
  • 3. + Ideas & Execution of Effective Outreach  These are a few of my core values in regard to effective media outreach:  Feature people. Example: show volunteers taking action or students learning.  Tell an anecdote whether relating to history, a recent event, or a person.  Build community relations by tagging local businesses.  Give “behind the scenes access” of events and daily operations.  Post on holidays or special occasional.  Engage with hashtag activism if applicable.  Thanking our audience, vendors, partners, and stakeholders.

  • 7. + Results  In Jan. 2016 the Woodlawn/PL site had 520 likes. Through regular postings, I have increased our following by 50%  I increased our Instagram audience rise by 200+ followers. Twitter saw an increase of roughly 270 followers.
  • 8. + Website Design  This website was created through Squarespace. http://www.woodlawnpopeleighey.org/  The monthly average traffic ranges from 7,000 visits to 14,000 depending on the events we host.
