This document summarizes a research project on analyzing the social and economic impacts of climate change in rural Hungary. The objectives are to develop a risk assessment method to evaluate long-term changes in economic and social factors under different climate change scenarios. A literature review establishes that vulnerability to climate change has significant social and economic dimensions beyond direct impacts on agriculture and forestry. Key factors influencing adaptation are identified as access to information, economic resources, institutional capacity, technology, politics, and social trends. The research aims to account for these socioeconomic factors in its risk assessment methodology and scenario analysis of climate change impacts in rural communities and economies.
