This document outlines three marketing ideas to promote Smoke's brand on campus:
1) The Plaid Brigade student ambassador program to build brand awareness and campus presence.
2) A summer internship for Plaid Brigade leaders to develop the ambassador program.
3) Literally bringing Smoke's franchises onto campus to increase daytime traffic and locations near students. The document discusses implementation processes and timelines for each idea, and how they would benefit Smoke's by strengthening their relationship with the core target market.

Editor's Notes
How to become an ambassador for Smokes Students will be asked to enter a video submission to the franchise owner of the area by February 1st. The franchise owner will review the first 50 submissions and will choose the top three best videos and then conduct an interview for the best candidate. The video is open to interpretation of the statement, “Smokes Apocalypse”, however key elements must be included; the school campus, the local Smokes restaurant, and the face of Smokes. Think of the video as a commercial that runs for 2 to 3 minutes. Submissions must be made by students of the university however videos can include as many people as they wish, only one submission per student. Contest winners will be announced by April 1st via email with a request to contact the local franchise owner. Contest winners will have 5 business days to schedule an interview to demonstrate key qualities such as outgoing, entrepreneurial skills, drive, and ambition. Please email or bring a resume and transcript to the interview. Please note that students with poor transcripts will not be selected as ambassador because Smokes does not wish to add work to students performing poorly academically. Lastly, the videos of the selected winners from the interviews will be played on campus TV and on the Smokes Website. This is what I though about talking about during the presentation, I know it doesn't have any of the specifics about Carleton but I thought that might be kind of boring to present and if he had questions about it then I could address them. What do you think? You have the bar crowd conquered, people love going to smokes after the bar, some people even go out planning on ending up at smokes. You have a new challenge: getting Smokes poutinirie rocking during the day time. If you have an outlet at the biggest schools across Canada think about how much more likely your target market will be to eat smokes for lunch and dinner.Poutine makes an amazing after bar snack, but like you said your turning a poutine into a meal and a meal into a poutine, so it only makes sense for you to turn it up a notch and get into schools.By looking at a few schools we have determined what it takes to get a franchise onto campus and although different campuses have different rules the increased day time purchases will make jumping through those hoops worth it. Also with the Ambassador at the school prior to Smokes opening up shop will decrease the challenge of opening a franchise on campus.Within your target market there are many different segments, you have the gamers, the muscically inclined, the studious, the unstudious, the jocks, and each act in different ways. Yes the majority of your target goes out to the bars, but some don't. The ones that don't will be nothing but happy to have Smokes for lunch right at their school. and the ones that do will be just as thrilled to welcome you onto campus for a mid study session poutine.Poutine is a comfort food, it's a stress reliever; students get stressed so why not get on campus, fill students up and help them enjoy their time at school.
This is what I have for the pamphlet Carelton Facts students: 26,855, 1000 are under 18, 15020 between 18-24 staff: 4387 residence space: 3529 between 2006-2012 202,114 students have been enrolled in the school 10% increases in students from 06'-12'Regulations for food services - Food court is open all year round and is run by The Fresh Food Company - Fresh Food Company would become the Franchise owner of Smokes and would run it according to the Smokes Franchise agreement -Limitations are the hours don't coincide with smokes current busiest hours, but this plan of entering schools is to change the demand times. This means the school location will not be competing with the downtown location. -Everything behind the counter would be representative of the smokes brand. The only thing your losing is whats beyond the counter in the food court. -Poutines would be made the same way -The current franchises in the food court are Subway, A and W, Beneto Sushi, and Spring rolls. their franchise agreements needed very little tweaking in order for them to be able to open up on campus. -There are other franchises on campus but the food court would be the ideal location and makes the most sense for SmokesIf there is anything else you would like to put in, just ask and I will get you the information needed
