The document introduces SMOB, a framework for semantic microblogging. SMOB addresses issues with current microblogging systems by using a distributed architecture, common representation formats through an ontology stack, meaningful tags through integration with Linked Open Data, and customized information delivery through sharing spaces. It reuses popular models like FOAF and SIOC and models posts in RDFa. SMOB also describes ongoing work on sparqlPuSH for real-time synchronization and Twarql for LOD interlinking from Twitter data.
