The webinar discussed smart manufacturing through machine vision and artificial intelligence. Mrs. Usha, the ex-Joint Director of CMTI, Bangalore, spoke about how machine vision and AI are useful in manufacturing. She highlighted their roles with examples and videos. Mrs. Usha discussed additive manufacturing concepts and how AI is being applied in manufacturing. She concluded that machine vision and AI can help drive effective output in manufacturing, which she called smart manufacturing. The webinar had 114 participants and included a question and answer session.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

S Dean R&I, Dr. Abdul Sharief Dean SOE welcomed by speaker with small
discussion with the speaker. Mr. San John Paul anchored the session &
introduced the speaker to the audience with her credits experience and
achievements in her area. Mrs. USHA, Ex-Joint Director, CMTI, Bangalore,
addressed the audience about herself and about the area of specialization of her in
CMTI. She begun the webinar with introducing the various technologies in
manufacturing.
2. She also highlighted on various aspects of Machine vision and the role of machine
vision in manufacturing with all details in it with a case study and some videos
with real time application. Focused on additive manufacturing concepts in depth.
She also highlighted the various implicational areas of Artificial intelligence in
manufacturing added various recent developments that are taking place and how
these technologies help human society to drive more effective output in
manufacturing.
With these concepts she concluded the session by briefing the overall webinar with
how the machine vision and AI is useful in manufacturing which she coined to be
as a Smart manufacturing.
Questionaries’ session was done where many of the attendees of the session
clarified the doubt related to application of machine vision and AI in
manufacturing sector.
