OPERATION
TheSLV-24Nphotoelectricsmokedetectorutilizestwo
bicoloredLEDSfor indicationof status. In a normal
standbyconditiontheLEDsflashGreenevery3
seconds.Whenthedetectorsensessmokeandgoes
intoalarmthe statusLEDswilllatchon Red.
The detectorutilizesan infraredLEDlightsourceand
siliconphotodiodereceivingelementinthesmoke
chamber.Ina normalstandbycondition,thereceiving
elementreceivesno lightfrom the pulsingLED light
source.Intheeventofa fire,smokeentersthedetector
smokechamberand lightis reflectedfromthe smoke
particlesto thereceivingelement.Thelightreceivedis
convertedintoanelectronicsignal.
Signalsareprocessedandcomparedtoa referencelevel,
andwhentwoconsecutivesignalsexceedingthe
referencelevelarereceivedwithina soecifiedoeriodof
time,the timedelaycircuittriggersthe SCR switchto
activatethealarmsignal.ThestatusLEDSlight
continuouslyduringthealarmperiod.
