This document summarizes the minutes from a Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Organization meeting held on February 18, 2015. Key discussion points included amending the bylaws regarding missed community service events, deciding not to book a group flight for an upcoming conference, and coordinating transportation for a state meeting. 1. Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Organization
February 18, 2015

I. Attendance: Please sign in!
a. Other than those who had clinical responsibilities we had 100% attendance at
the meeting! You guys rock!
II. New Business:
A. Bylaws Amendment
i. If you miss the allotted amount of community service and fundraising
events you can pay $10 per missed event to make up for those and still
get funding for ASHA (2 allotted missed before penalty) –PASSED
B. Flight decision for ASHA Conference -- VP, Lauren
a. It was decided that we would not book a flight collectively as a group.
You can contact other people attending and book flights together (but
individually) so you know you are on the same flight. Lauren has created
a google doc page so that we can all communicate what flights we have
scheduled and try to coordinate as much or little as we would all like!
C. MSHA carpool
A. figure out transportation on your own, but if you are having trouble
just ask!!
B. hand in $41 to Krandall for MSHA – if you have not done so yet you
need to do this ASAP
c. The hotel is the Radisson hotel, 4 people per room, 6 rooms, check in is
all under SLPGO credit card, Vanessa will be first there so she will check in
and get room keys, rooms are assigned but can be changed, register by
March 22nd, (22 people going). Can communicate via Facebook to figure
out roomies!

a. Social Chairs – Audrey & Michelle
i. This Saturday, February 21, 2015
Meeting at 11:30 am $13 for one hour $26 for two hours, have to sign a
waiver, be back around 1:00 or 2:00,
ii. Future PT/MED/PA – social/fundraiser
-at O’Kelly’s next Friday, Feb 27 (not a SLPGO fundraiser, but can support
their club) time TBA
iii. Cabin fundraiser/social after spring break
Maybe invite PT/MED/PA to ours!
b. SLAC Representative – Rebecca
i. The annual SLAC Ice Cream Social (their spring philanthropy event) will be
Wednesday April 15, 2015 from 11:30-1:30 in the HPB atrium.
ii. April 11, 2015 the PT program needs volunteers for their 5k.
iii. Brainstorm a more efficient use of the SLAC committee to suit our needs.
Since vending machine money isn’t there anymore, do we need
this position? What other things can we do with it? Inter-
professional events?
c. Upcoming Fundraisers
i. Tropical Smooth, Wednesday, March 4th from 5-10 pm; grab one before
or after class!
ii. T-shirt sale results

iii. RAFFLE!!!
1. Audrey wins a prize!
iv. Have around $46 per person raised for ASHA after 4 fundraisers as of
right now!
v. Don’t forget, you can miss 2 fundraisers without penalty any misses after
can be make up with $10
vi. Planned events
1. March: tropical smoothie and thirty one bags
2. April NSSLHA clothing sale and Jam berry
3. May YOGSO t-shirt sale and SSC T-shirts (combined)
4. June-July can drive and restaurant fundraiser (BWW, Pizza Hut)
5. August: warrior dash volunteering
6. September-November: CMU clothing sale, Yankee candle, holiday
clothing sale, exercise/ Zumba class

e. If you have to pay Krandall for anything, please put it in an envelope with your
name and what it’s for
f. SLPGO now has a "Like" page on Facebook. We will be using it to advertise our
organization as well as our fundraising events. Feel free to invite 2nd years and
your friends in CDO undergrad to "like" the page! Taylor will be in charge of
posting pictures to that page and creating events through the page. This will
allow us to easily invite our CMU friends to SLPGO fundraisers.
