The Path to Piety Program is a religious program offered at the local mosque that I attend at 4
Thorncliffe Park Dr.

The purpose of the program is to stimulate your faith in your religion while providing various work-
shops and lectures. I was apart of the organization committee to help orchestrate the event which
took place just recently over the long weekend. It’s into its sixth year of existence and I have
participated in each year providing myself and volunteering. I’ve strengthen my faith in my religion
by attending and helping out at this event. It helped me become a better person and have a better
outlook on life
Obtaining my O.S.S.D was one of my biggest achievements to date. Not only was it a
struggle due to certain circumstances that I came across in my youth, it was a blessing
to be the only one in my family to have this diploma to my name. I learned that through
my years in high-school, dedication, determination and hard-work can pay off and
reward you greatly.
The annual Job Fair that is held at the Metro Convention centre was a great experience.
Not only did I learn great interview tips, I also had the opportunity to apply for various
jobs that helped progress me to where I am today. By attending this fair, I secured a
position at my current work place, which is The Coca-Cola Company. It’s a great
stepping stone that can provide great opportunities for growth.
Basketball has and always play a big part of my
life. It encourages the individual team work,
communication, ability to listen, and confidence.
These are all key skills you need to help
progress in life as well. The sport is the ultimate
Zen relief in my opinion. It helps me release
stress and efficiently calms me down instantly.
Community involvement is always key especially when it deals with the area that you
originate from. It’s only right to give back when ever possible with what ever possible.
During the year and summer, I option myself to the local recreation centre for various
activities. Either it’s hosting community bbq’s, basketball tournaments or organizing day
camps for the local youth, I always try to be involved as much as I can. The outcome by
doing this is giving myself a satisfactory feeling of accomplishment and also inspiring the
youth generation that giving back is always good.
