1. DONNA LAGERGREN
I am born and raised in Thunder Bay and employed as a community nurse
at St Elizabeth Health Care in which I provide care to a diverse population
of different cultures within the community. During my spare time, I enjoy
camping, travelling, reading, crafts, exercising, and gardening,
I received my Registered Practical Nurse Certificate in 1986 from the
Regional School for Nursing Assistants. In 2007 I received an Honors
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Women’s Studies from
Lakehead University in 2007.
In May 2014, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from
Lakehead University.
In 2004, I became a volunteer with Community Living Thunder Bay for
duration of 3 years. During my volunteer work, I help to assist individuals
with arts and crafts, gardening, bowling, attending special occasions and
educational opportunities.
From 2007 to 2011 I served as a Board Director for 2 full terms. In June
2012 I returned back on with the board until present and presently acting as
2nd
Vice President.
I am currently serving as Board Director with Thunder Bay Counselling
Centre, and Catholic Family Development Centre.
During the past year with Community Living Thunder Bay, I had served on
the 60th
Anniversary Gala Committee and received positive feedback that it
was a successful event.
Since I have been an active Board Director for the past 3 years, I have
witnessed a significant change in which we are heading in a positive
direction.
I hope to continue to act as a Board Director as I believe that every
individual with a disability has the right to quality care, respect, loyalty, and
a chance to voice their opinion when needed. I currently hold an active
membership with CLTB and will continue to maintain it.
