Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Blogger • I like blogger because it is something that you can use to updates information and use it for talking to others. • Blogger it is easy and you can change the layout and things on there that you would want to change, pictures and other items you can upload. • Blogger reminds me of Facebook because it is something that is for updating status and uploading pictures.

Flickr • You can categorized your pictures in different ways and you organized them in any shape or form. • You can use the map to show where you have taken a picture at and where the location is. • Flickr is a cool website and I like it you can search pictures that you have put on there and see what all you have on there.

Twitter • Twitter is a okay network I just don’t like the whole following thing and the whole tweeting and putting everything you do. • Twitter you have to put the @ sign before and put a tweet or when you put something on there page. • Twitter to me seems just like a network that is for somebody who is going to update everything.

Delicious • This is a site is similar to Facebook and twitter because you can find people and updates information. • You can add links to this page and you can share them with others, and you can add tags to picture and other things you add. • And when you sign up you have to pick a username and you have to have a @ sign in front of your name on the main page.

MyAlltop • This is a site that is mainly for top stories and top news that is out there in the world. • You can go and find a topic that you like and they have different information about that topic. • MyAlltop is you can share these topics on Facebook and you can use the pinterest site to share information too.
