Slavery a positive thing

Thesis Statement

 We as African Americans would not have
been able to come to the United States if it
was not for slavery. However, there are also
many other things that make slavery
positive.
Three Positive Effects

 Political Leaders
 Inventions

 Music
African Americans Leaders


There are various political leaders
in our society today because of
slavery. Slavery motivated African
Americans to stand up for what
they believed in. African Americans
were tired of whites leading them
and they wanted to be in control
and help our world today. During
the slave times some 2,000 African
Americans held public office, from
the local level all the way up to the
united states senate. Frederick
Douglas was also one of the most
important and notable leaders.
Segregation also played a major
part of slavery and if it had not
been for slavery it would not be
possible for whites and blacks to
be together today. Dr. Martin
Luther King also was a political
leader and he stood up for what he
believed in. Rosa Parks was a
leader because she felt as if whites
should be equal to blacks.
However, it would not be possible
to have a black president today if
it was not for slavery. Slavery gave
the world various positive leaders
and many accomplishments in our
world today.
Inventions


Inventions is a major
positive effect of slavery. A
lot of things that you may
see today came from
someone who used
something like it back in
the day. For example, a
microwave. In slave times
slaves cooked food the
best way they could, they
may have had stoves, but
they knew nothing about
microwaves. Microwaves is
an easier way to heat and
cook food. There are a lot
of black inventors because
blacks did not have much
and they were curious to
have certain things, so
they found a way to invent
them.

Music
 However, music is also a
positive effect of slavery.
Music such as:
jazz, blues, and religious
music/ gospel would not exist
if it was not for slavery.
African Americans have a urge
and tendency to put their
feelings, emotions, and
struggles into music because
it gives others a view of their
lives and the things they went
through. Music also helps
many people today work
harder, stay focused, and be
calm and relaxed in certain
situations. Because of the
music in slave times various
types of music has came out
today all around the world.
Some slaves also sung to
remain calm in certain
situations.
Conclusion
 As a result, slavery is positive. There are a lot of
negative things that went on during slavery and there
were a lot a lot of things that was not right, but it has
helped tremendously. Our culture has improved
dramatically. The world would be so robust and corrupt
without slavery, because whites would have more than
blacks based upon skin color. If it was not for slavery we
would not have the black leaders, judges, or even police
officers that we have today. Slavery motivated the
blacks to become better. Being enslaved also made them
smarter, wiser, and gave them better thinking and
problem-solving skills. Slavery has improved our
economy, community, educational systems, and culture
a whole lot.
