9. Che was a revolutionist. He traveled all around Latin America. He also traveled to China, North Korea and the Soviet Union promoting a revolution. He fought for what he thought was right. His main enemy was the government. He helped Fidel Castro with the Cuban Revolution. He was a very important man during the 50s and during the 60s. Che Guevara called himself a Marxist-Leninist which is a communist ideological stream that emerged as the mainstream tendency amongst the Communist parties. He belong to the Party of the Cuban Socialist Revolution, and the National Liberation Army in Bolivia. On October 9, 1967 Che was executed by a Bolivian sergeant. The president of Bolivia ordered him to be killed. Che’s life and legacy still are here to this day. People view him as a hero because he fought for freedom.

A group of people gathered around the scene. Then a struggle began once Frye’s mother came to the scene. The police arrested all three family members using their batons. Doing that angered the crowd. After the police left a big riot started resulting in 34 people dead, 1,100 injured and caused an estimated $100 million dollars damage.

16. Cuban Missile Crisis A dispute between America, The Soviet Union, and Cuba during the Cold War. Americans feared the expansion of communism and rumors of the Soviet Union developing Atomic weapons. Cuban was seen as the closest threat involving missiles. The crisis lasted two weeks, beginning on October 14 th and ending on October 28 th 1962 after an agreement was reached to dismantle all of Cuba’s missile bases.

17. The Peace Corps. Was established on March 1 st , 1961 in order to help promote world peace. It was established on the ground it would be a completely volunteer run, non-profit organization. It is believed that the Peace Corps would not have been founded as early as it was if not for JFK suggesting the establishment of such an organization during his 1960 presidential campaign.

He did all this despite not playing past the age of 29.
