Editor's Notes

  • #12 At the highest level ERP integrates the functions of various activities in the enterprise: Finance Manufacturing Supply Chain and Logistics HR CRM etc etc
  • #13 In more detail we can see that the ERP systems cover a huge range of activities in an organisation. Start with an order from a customer and trace the touch points in the cycle: Orders – inventory checks – purchasing and production – delivery. Then discuss the infrastructure functions Finance functions – Accts receiveable / payable Production Planning – Scheduling / forecasting HR – employee management Because there are so, so many interaction points in an organisation, having a consistent approach reduces complexity and increases use of best practises Finally mention data analytics
  • #16 SAP revenues is about the same as the next 5 in the table. Absolute supremacy and that is why we go with the market leader
  • #21 We offer a range of subjects that attempt to balance between subjects requiring research into ERPs and their on-going development and practical “hands-on” skills using SAP 8 out of 12 subjects involve intense use of SAP go thru subjects: ERP Systems – what they are/where they are going BPE – business model on which ERP systems are based. Uses SAP’s reference model as the case study BIS (BW) – modeling, extraction-transformation-loading, reporting, administration of BW System SCLM – why study?
