Taking into account the economy and so many students are returning adults, we have to think of other means to achieve experience before graduation. Here are some practical options and things to consider as a student and employer looking to hire interns.
Learning Objective: Examine the elements to constructing superior resumes
Having an efficient and strong resume will greatly improve your chances of landing that dream job and starting your career on the right foot. Creating the perfect resume takes practice and skill. You want to make sure that your resume stands out above the rest without overdoing it. How does one make sure that his or her resume is top-notch and bulletproof? This seminar will give you the scoop on creating the standout resume that will get you your next interview. We will discuss tips such as determining what your resume’s purpose is, supporting your strengths, using appropriate keywords, the benefits of proofreading and bullet points, and proper font usage.
At the end of this seminar, participants will be able to:
a. Identify the purpose of a solidly effective resume.
b. Discern good from bad resumes.
c. Analyze the resume factors that recruiters identify to disregard some resumes.
d. Identify the attributes of resumes that get on the interview schedule.
T-3 program is to train and enable St. Francis College student-athletes to become more competitive in the workforce. A series of career based programs will equip each athlete with the tools needed for professional development beyond their sporting arenas. The T-3 program will offer a range of workshops on various topics. Moreover the goal of the T-3 program is to develop students to become leaders as they evolve into well-rounded individuals.

Under “Employer” write down the skills, experiences, and values the employer seeks in an applicant. Under “Applicant” write down the specific skills and experiences you have that match the needs of your preferred industry. Think about soft skills (e.g. teamwork, communication, leadership), technical skills, and relevant experiences.

What is it?
One of the keys to successful interviewing and networking is to make a really strong first impression, and one of
the first opportunities to make this impression is very often the result of responding to the question “Tell me about yourself.” The answer: your personal “commercial.” It is essentially an overview of your experience, skills, strengths, accomplishments and goals – all in 30 seconds!
