              Stunts for my skateboarding, a Performance task in Physics




       Hey guys! What’s up? Well, I’m ready! The Extreme Games is coming close. And I can say that I’m more than ready to
face the competition cuz’ it’s been two months since I was planning for my stunts. Well, you ready to know it? I hope these
stunts will help us win!

Stunt #1:
       Well, what I’ve planned to do for my first stunt is called “The Side Glide”. This is how it goes. I know that sliding using
our skateboards is very common. That’s why what I’m planning to do is to slide on a tube that is put on the floor. You guys
know the poles that we used in stairs? The ones on the side, where we hold on to so that we can have the support when we
use the stairs; that is the pole that I will use and maybe its about 10 feet long. Well, to make it more interesting, I’m planning
to put it on huge round where it is filled with water. So, the pole is supported by standing poles so that it will elevate a little.
The pole is on water, it means when I fall, I would be very much wet.




        So, here I used the 1st law of Newton in which it states inertia. I will continue to be in motion with constant velocity. I can also apply the 3 rd
law which is interaction in which my upward force, my jump, will interact with the downward force of gravity.
Here is how I am going to do the stunt. I will start from a far distance from the pole. I will get some speed, speed and more
speed. Then when I’m near the pole, I’ll jump high on the pole with my board and when the interaction between my upward
force and the gravitational force interacts, I will land on a side position on the pole and I’m still gliding. I will continue to
glide with constant velocity towards the end of the pole and when I reach the end, I will jump high again and the
gravitational pull will help me have the safe landing of the surface of the Earth.

       So, here I used the 1st law of Newton in which it states inertia. I will continue to be in motion with constant velocity. I
can also apply the 3rd law which is interaction in which my upward force, my jump, will interact with the downward force of
gravity.

Stunt #2:
       May second stunt that I’ll be doing is what I called the “Amazing Jump”. Here’s what I’m going to do. I’ll standing on
an elevated area and I will go down the stairs with a flap on my skateboard. So, what I need is speed. I’ll start of from a far
distance away from the stairs and push my foot backwards so that my force will give acceleration to me and my board.

       I’ll start of from here then, get my foot ready and kick and kick and kick. Until I’m near the stairs and when the
momentum is correct, I’ll jump with my skateboard, twist it and it will go or a flap. Then, as I go down, I’ll get ready for a
perfect landing.

       On this trick, I used the 2nd law of acceleration in which I used my foot to give force and acceleration to my board. As
my foot gives more and more force, I gain speed because according to Newton, force is directly proportional to acceleration
that’s why I gain speed.
Stunt #3:
       This time, I want to call it “The Blazing Jump”. I’ll be using the racks already. Well, in the rack, we go from side then
the other side then goes back the other side and the other again. I will use the “U” rack. Here’s what will be the set-up. First,
in the middle of the “U” we will put a stand and circle on which I’m going to pass through. To make it more interesting, let’s
set the circle on fire.

       Now I need speed. Very big amount speed indeed. So, what I’m going to go first is go to the right path of the “U”,
then the left path of the “U”. Now, I’m going to repeat it maybe for 6 times then when the speed is enough, I’ll jump high
and with very fast speed I will able to pass through the fire-burning circle and when my upward force is interacted with the
earth’s pull, I’ll keep my landing safe using my feet.

       In this stunt, I also used the 3rd law of interaction in which my body jumps upward and I go down with the help of the
downward force, the gravity. I also used the 2nd law of acceleration in which with the force of my foot increases, my velocity
also increases. They are directly proportional.

Stunt #4:
        Woooooooo.. Luckily, I may be still alive at this point. Hahaha. So, here’s my 4th stunt and what I’m planning to do is
to have a bigger rack. With a bigger rack, I can use two stands with circles in which I’ll both go on. The set-up is this, it will
still be in a U rack only it’s bigger and there will be two stands with circles on the U. And the best part is it is both in flames.

       Here’s how I’m going to do it. Well, the most important thing that I really need is still speed. I need more speed than
I used from the stunt #3. With longer distance and with the bigger rack, I’ll have a longer space to gather all the speed that
I needed. The same way, from the left edge, then the right edge, the left, then the right, well, maybe I’ll put on more force
from my foot to make me faster.I’ll do it for ten times. Then, I must be ready, ready to jump and as I jump, I’ll go through
both of the circles and when I got pass, I’ll keep my feet safe landing on the skateboard.
This time, the law that I used is the 2nd law, the law of acceleration. I need to pass a longer distance and the only
way I can do it is with faster speed. I shall do a greater force than the one that I used in the previous stunt. With more
force, comes more acceleration and faster speed. With this, I can make the stunt successfully.

Stunt #5:
      This is my last stunt. I don’t know if I can make this. Well, before I’ll do this, please tell first my crush that I like her
so much please? So that if I’ll not make it, at least she knew.Hahaha. Well, so much for the drama, here it goes.

      I will use two U racks and put the one of the left and the other on the right. They must be about 30 feet away from
each other. And on the distance between them, there will two to three cars that I’ll be passing on using a big jump.

       So, I’ll be starting on the right rack. I’ll be going from one edge on the other just like what I did on the 4th and 3rd
stunts. I’ll be on going from right, then on the left, right and on the left. But this time, I really need to give my best force on
my foot so that I can jump 30 feet away. Now, that I have the right speed, I’ll jump high and fast so that I will past though
the cars and when I’m on the other rack, I’ll keep on rolling on it and then stop myself by using my foot also.

        The laws that I used in this part is also the 2nd law of acceleration, I keep on giving force with the help of my foot and
then with the force, comes acceleration, as I said, they are directly proportional. I also used the 3 rd law of interaction in
which the gravity and my jumps interacts and lastly, when I am on motion when I’m jumping, I also used the 1st law of
inertia because I’m in constant motion in the absence of unbalanced applied force.

      Well, all of this will be nothing if we will not have the most important factor that every skater must have. All of us
must be confident and we must not be scared. If we only got scared, we will not achieve anything good. That’s why, we
must all be confident and we must always believe in ourselves.

  • 1. Mrs. Castillo@yahoo.com Stunts for my skateboarding, a Performance task in Physics Hey guys! What’s up? Well, I’m ready! The Extreme Games is coming close. And I can say that I’m more than ready to face the competition cuz’ it’s been two months since I was planning for my stunts. Well, you ready to know it? I hope these stunts will help us win! Stunt #1: Well, what I’ve planned to do for my first stunt is called “The Side Glide”. This is how it goes. I know that sliding using our skateboards is very common. That’s why what I’m planning to do is to slide on a tube that is put on the floor. You guys know the poles that we used in stairs? The ones on the side, where we hold on to so that we can have the support when we use the stairs; that is the pole that I will use and maybe its about 10 feet long. Well, to make it more interesting, I’m planning to put it on huge round where it is filled with water. So, the pole is supported by standing poles so that it will elevate a little. The pole is on water, it means when I fall, I would be very much wet. So, here I used the 1st law of Newton in which it states inertia. I will continue to be in motion with constant velocity. I can also apply the 3 rd law which is interaction in which my upward force, my jump, will interact with the downward force of gravity.
  • 2. Here is how I am going to do the stunt. I will start from a far distance from the pole. I will get some speed, speed and more speed. Then when I’m near the pole, I’ll jump high on the pole with my board and when the interaction between my upward force and the gravitational force interacts, I will land on a side position on the pole and I’m still gliding. I will continue to glide with constant velocity towards the end of the pole and when I reach the end, I will jump high again and the gravitational pull will help me have the safe landing of the surface of the Earth. So, here I used the 1st law of Newton in which it states inertia. I will continue to be in motion with constant velocity. I can also apply the 3rd law which is interaction in which my upward force, my jump, will interact with the downward force of gravity. Stunt #2: May second stunt that I’ll be doing is what I called the “Amazing Jump”. Here’s what I’m going to do. I’ll standing on an elevated area and I will go down the stairs with a flap on my skateboard. So, what I need is speed. I’ll start of from a far distance away from the stairs and push my foot backwards so that my force will give acceleration to me and my board. I’ll start of from here then, get my foot ready and kick and kick and kick. Until I’m near the stairs and when the momentum is correct, I’ll jump with my skateboard, twist it and it will go or a flap. Then, as I go down, I’ll get ready for a perfect landing. On this trick, I used the 2nd law of acceleration in which I used my foot to give force and acceleration to my board. As my foot gives more and more force, I gain speed because according to Newton, force is directly proportional to acceleration that’s why I gain speed.
  • 3. Stunt #3: This time, I want to call it “The Blazing Jump”. I’ll be using the racks already. Well, in the rack, we go from side then the other side then goes back the other side and the other again. I will use the “U” rack. Here’s what will be the set-up. First, in the middle of the “U” we will put a stand and circle on which I’m going to pass through. To make it more interesting, let’s set the circle on fire. Now I need speed. Very big amount speed indeed. So, what I’m going to go first is go to the right path of the “U”, then the left path of the “U”. Now, I’m going to repeat it maybe for 6 times then when the speed is enough, I’ll jump high and with very fast speed I will able to pass through the fire-burning circle and when my upward force is interacted with the earth’s pull, I’ll keep my landing safe using my feet. In this stunt, I also used the 3rd law of interaction in which my body jumps upward and I go down with the help of the downward force, the gravity. I also used the 2nd law of acceleration in which with the force of my foot increases, my velocity also increases. They are directly proportional. Stunt #4: Woooooooo.. Luckily, I may be still alive at this point. Hahaha. So, here’s my 4th stunt and what I’m planning to do is to have a bigger rack. With a bigger rack, I can use two stands with circles in which I’ll both go on. The set-up is this, it will still be in a U rack only it’s bigger and there will be two stands with circles on the U. And the best part is it is both in flames. Here’s how I’m going to do it. Well, the most important thing that I really need is still speed. I need more speed than I used from the stunt #3. With longer distance and with the bigger rack, I’ll have a longer space to gather all the speed that I needed. The same way, from the left edge, then the right edge, the left, then the right, well, maybe I’ll put on more force from my foot to make me faster.I’ll do it for ten times. Then, I must be ready, ready to jump and as I jump, I’ll go through both of the circles and when I got pass, I’ll keep my feet safe landing on the skateboard.
  • 4. This time, the law that I used is the 2nd law, the law of acceleration. I need to pass a longer distance and the only way I can do it is with faster speed. I shall do a greater force than the one that I used in the previous stunt. With more force, comes more acceleration and faster speed. With this, I can make the stunt successfully. Stunt #5: This is my last stunt. I don’t know if I can make this. Well, before I’ll do this, please tell first my crush that I like her so much please? So that if I’ll not make it, at least she knew.Hahaha. Well, so much for the drama, here it goes. I will use two U racks and put the one of the left and the other on the right. They must be about 30 feet away from each other. And on the distance between them, there will two to three cars that I’ll be passing on using a big jump. So, I’ll be starting on the right rack. I’ll be going from one edge on the other just like what I did on the 4th and 3rd stunts. I’ll be on going from right, then on the left, right and on the left. But this time, I really need to give my best force on my foot so that I can jump 30 feet away. Now, that I have the right speed, I’ll jump high and fast so that I will past though the cars and when I’m on the other rack, I’ll keep on rolling on it and then stop myself by using my foot also. The laws that I used in this part is also the 2nd law of acceleration, I keep on giving force with the help of my foot and then with the force, comes acceleration, as I said, they are directly proportional. I also used the 3 rd law of interaction in which the gravity and my jumps interacts and lastly, when I am on motion when I’m jumping, I also used the 1st law of inertia because I’m in constant motion in the absence of unbalanced applied force. Well, all of this will be nothing if we will not have the most important factor that every skater must have. All of us must be confident and we must not be scared. If we only got scared, we will not achieve anything good. That’s why, we must all be confident and we must always believe in ourselves.
