INTRODUCTION:
We humans, interact with the world using our five
senses. But as the name suggests this
technology brings forward an additional sixth
sense
A sixth sense is an ESP(Extra Sensory
Perception) that aims at a more developed future
with both the physical and digital world.
HISTORY:
The History of “6th sense technology” goes back
into 1990’s when Steve Mann first attempted to
propose a neckworn projector and a camera
combination.
The sixth sense technology was
developed by Pranav Mistry, a PhD student in the
Fluid Interfaces Group at the MIT Media Lab
FEATURES:
The generalised features of SIXTH SENSE
TECHNOLOGY are as follows:
Make a phone call.
Zoom in & out.
Snap a picture.
Picture editing.
Scan a Book
Recognize a person.
Project a analog clock; etc
ARCHITECTURE OF SST:
The sixth sense technology requires some
components in its working. They are as follows:
1.CAMERA
2.PROJECTOR
3.MIRROR
4.MOBILE
5.COLOUR
MARKERS
WORKING OPERATION:
APPLICATION:
1.For checking the time.
2.For making a call.
3.For drawing purpose.
4.Taking photos.
5.Live video in newspaper
6.Flight updates
ADVANTAGES:
Some of the advantages of sixth sense technology is
mentioned below.They are:
Portable.
Support multi touch and multi user interaction.
Cost effective.
Open source software.
Data access.
Connect the gap between the real world and
physical world
DISADVANTAGES:
Some of the disadvantages of sixth sense
technology are mentioned below. They are as
follows:
 We have to give correct instruction.
 The projectors runs on batteries for power where
regularly have to replace.
FUTURE SCOPE:
Some of the future scope of sixth sense technology
are given below,they are:
3-D visualisation.
Solar batteries will be used in near future.
This could act as a third eye for blind peoples.
After ten years we may be carrying an ultimate
sixth sense brain implant.
CONCLUSION:
Sixth Sense recognizes the objects around us,
displaying information automatically and letting us to
access it in any way we need.
This prototype implements several applications that
demonstrate the usefulness, viability and flexibility of
the system.
Allowing us to interact with this information via
natural hand gestures.
 finally SIXTH SENSE TECHNOLOGY means
“LOOKING SOMETHING UP”
