Lean Six Sigma is accomplished in an organization by performing specific Lean SixSigma Projects.There are
metrics employed to monitor progress ofthe specified Lean SixSigma Projectand to demonstrate before and after
any Lean Six Sigma ImprovementProjectthat there will be/were cost savings,improved quality,and enhanced
business operations.
Approach
This program is designed to address three "layers"oflean and quality practitioners within the organization.
 Senior-level managers and executives — These individuals mustunderstand how Lean Six Sigma
practices benefitthe organization.They sponsor all of the Lean Six Sigma activities within the organization
 Green Belts — These individuals are notfull-time Lean Six Sigma Program employees.They have other
business duties and mustapplyLean and Six Sigma quality practices to their other normal duties
 Black Belts — Black Belts are full-time Lean Six Sigma employees.Theydo not multitask with other
business activities.These individuals are the instructors,coaches,and mentors ofthe Green Belts and they
are trained in providing internal consulting to the employees who are working on Lean Six Sigma
