Strategies like solar control through shading and spatial planning, air ventilation through the building form and orientation, and evaporative cooling through surrounding water and plants were employed. Solar control and air ventilation were effective, while evaporative cooling was less effective due to high humidity. The café saved 90% of electricity compared to air conditioned buildings.

Internship report

Tan also participated in interior design work for the Mahkota Medical Centre renovation in Malacca, including 3D modeling, rendering, and material selection. In addition, Tan attended consultant coordination meetings and assisted with permit application documents. Through this experience, Tan gained valuable knowledge of medical planning and the architectural design process.
