"Education" word came from the Latin words, Educatum, Educare or Educere. "Education and Educare" mean "to train, to raise and to nourish", while 'educare' signifies "to lead out" the previous infers that instruction is external, to be forced or put in from outside. The last demonstrates development from inside. Aristotle characterized instruction as "a measure vital for the production of a sound psyche in a sound body". Dewey, in 20th century, characterizes training in these words: "Education is measure of living through a nonstop reproduction of encounters. It is improvement of each one of those limits in the person which will empower him to control his condition and satisfy his possibilities".

Career education & guidance in schools Premanand Rai
Predictions about participation in the 21st-century workforce are being proven accurate every day. It does demand lifelong learning and an enduring capacity to manage change. Globalization has created even more challenges as well as opportunities for everyone. Young people are entering a more complex and dynamic environment where the interface between work and other facets of life is constantly being reappraised.
As the world changed and opportunities grew, the matching process became more complex. More young people had to decide whether to continue their education or get a job. They had to think about the longer-term consequences of their decisions as well as their next steps. So, careers work changed and young people began to receive some careers education in preparation for their ‘end of school’ guidance interview. This was normally a handful of lessons giving information about the opportunities on offer and advice on how to complete application forms and construct CVs.
Earlier the World of Career was quiet different - In the early days, careers work focused on matching individuals to specific opportunities in education and work. As choice was limited, many young people simply followed in their family’s footsteps. Making decisions about the next steps was a straightforward process, taking little time and requiring little preparation. For most students, an ‘end of school’ careers guidance interview with the Youth Employment Service was generally sufficient.
:: Technology, globalization and other developments have continued to transform the world, and change has become a feature of daily life. In schools, curriculum change meant that young people had some choice about which subjects to study in Years 10 and 11. To help them make these ‘career choices’, most schools extended their careers education lessons into Year 9 and gave young people earlier access to careers guidance.
:: International interest in career education and guidance is increasing as governments acknowledge the personal, social and economic benefits of equipping school students with the attitudes, knowledge and transferable skills they will need to become self-reliant career management and lead positive and fulfilled lives.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

6. LITERATURE REVIEW
▪ Aithal, P. S. and Aithal, Shubhrajyotsna(2016), Education is the most important thing
for any country to develop and prosper. Education moulds the character and
intelligence of individuals. It also provides the talent and motivation to every person.
The conventional education system at higher education level is analogous to brick
and mortar type business system, where a student gets systematic education from
college/University by personally attending required courses regularly (Full time/part
Time). However, the conventional education system has many drawbacks and lot of
improvements are expected in future days.
▪ Sharma, S., & Sharma(2015), Higher education system plays an important role for
the country’s overall development which includes industrial, social, economic etc.
Indian higher education system is third largest in the world. The role of Indian higher
educational institutes such as colleges and universities in the present time is to
provide quality based education in the field of education, research etc to empower
youth for self sustainability. This paper includes the key challenges that India is
currently facing in higher education and also includes some initiatives taken by the
government to meet those challenges.
7. Holmes, K. A., & Prieto-Rodriguez, E. (2018), The staff and student comments about the interactive aspects
of LMS are clearly less positive than those offered in relation to features enabling accessibility and the
survey results indicate that, apart from discussion boards and quizzes, that most other interactive features
had not been experienced at all by a large proportion of staff and students. Students tended to look outside of
the LMS environment to other online interactive tools such as Face book for student-student interactions
related to coursework, primarily because of the ease of use of these tools in comparison to the interactive
LMS tools.
Kumar, Anuj & Ambrish (2015), Management of the Indian education faces challenges of over
centralisation, bureaucratic structures and lack of accountability, transparency, and professionalism. As a
result of increase in number of affiliated colleges and students, the burden of administrative functions of
universities has significantly increased and the core focus on academics and research is diluted.
Nexus Novus(2016), The year 2012 witnessed 21.4 million enrolments, which makes India the 3rd largest
educational system in the world. Unfortunately, the educational infrastructure of India is inadequate to
handle such huge volumes. In spite all the government spending in the educational sector, it is just too
insufficient to meet the growing requirements. Therefore, higher Education sector has now been identified as
one of the promising areas for private and foreign investments. It offers immense investment opportunities in
both non-regulated and regulated segments.
8. Babu, K.V.S.N. J. Sekhar, B.M. R (2012), An SAP-based management information system (MIS) has been
implemented at University of Debrecen (UD). After the introduction of the system, in 2014, MIS Centre –
the organization responsible for operation – has been established. The MIS of UD operates functionally,
however, it has wider range of uses and the opportunities offered by the system have not yet been fully
exploited. In our paper, SWOT analysis was used to present the currently unused functions of MIS and
based on the results, we propose suggestion for development.
Asia Khan (2015), mentioned that technological innovations in financial sector has brought a revolution and
completely changed financial scenario. Innovative financial products attract customers because they have
reduced transaction cost.
Awan and Majeed (2015), provided empirical support for a positive relationship between business
performance and the alignment of business strategy and MIS strategy. The above studies were conducted in
the context of large organizations.
9. OBJECTIVESOF THE STUDY
