Circuit breakers protect electrical circuits from excess current by interrupting the current flow, unlike fuses which must be replaced after blowing. This project measures current in a circuit using a current transformer and trips the circuit using a relay if the current exceeds a limit. A microcontroller monitors the current sensed by the analog-to-digital converter and triggers the relay when the limit is reached, cutting power to the load which in this case are light bulbs. An LCD display shows the current measurement.
