Singapore Changi Airport's Terminal 3 has several distinctive design features:
- It has a flat roof with 919 skylights to allow natural light while limiting direct sunlight with computer-controlled butterfly-shaped louvers. This provides ambient light and saves energy.
- Interior vegetation like a 5-meter tall hanging green wall and koi pond help regulate temperature and provide visual relief for passengers.
- Terminal 3 will be connected to existing terminals via an automated people mover system with driverless vehicles running on an elevated guideway to efficiently transport passengers around the airport.
