The chapter outlines the provisions for accessibility for persons with disabilities in various types of buildings. It specifies that the communal areas and facilities of residential buildings of 4 storeys and below (with or without lift access), and all areas of residential buildings of 5 storeys and above must be accessible. It also lists other types of buildings such as offices, shopping complexes, hotels, places of public resort, parks, schools and restaurants where all areas intended for access by employees or the public must be accessible. The aim is to set requirements to make key areas of these buildings accessible to persons with disabilities according to this Code.
