More slots than

One Goal, One
  Program
Many ministries
have a goal of total
  congregational
   involvement.
The Key to
Streamlining
If God is not calling
anyone to do a particular
   ministry, maybe it
   shouldn’t be done.
Let’s simplify. Do one or
  two things very well
rather than many things
      proficiently
Does this compete with
  another ministry for
participants or leaders?
Can the two ministries
 be combined into a
   single, stronger
      ministry?
Should enrollment in
some programs be
  capped to avoid
 straining staff and
     facilities?
Does this compete with
  another ministry for
participants or leaders?
Trouble finding
   workers?
Do we have conscious
or unconscious barriers
that discourage those
  God is calling from
       working?
Does the job description
  need to be shaped?
Is the support system
     adequate?
Is the position less
essential than previously
       assumed?
What is God saying to
the church through this
      vacancy?
Pruning for growth
Are the structures and
activities that produced
yesterday’s fruit diluting
 the church’s energy?
Holy Spirit, keep us from
spreading the church’s
  resources too thin.
Help us to focus on what
You want us to do now,
     in this season.
