Deadline 2020 sets a science-based roadmap for cities to deliver the
high ambition & urgency of the Paris Agreement
• Business-as-usual – just in C40 cities – will
surpass safe levels of GLOBAL emissions by
2050
• To keep within 1.5 degrees warming, we must
peak emissions at 2020, drop to 3 tCO2e by
2030 and net zero by 2050
• Cities can improve health and economic
opportunity for their citizens and, collectively,
deliver 40% of emissions reductions under the
Paris Agreement
