I believe that Silence of the Lambs was the most suspenseful movie we have watched. There were many things in the movie that messed with one's
mind and made them see or believe things that weren't there. Camera angles, lighting, and the tone of a character's voice can help add suspense to a
film. Also, the amount of irony that was in the film made the viewer be on their toes the whole time. The Silence of the Lambs could possibly make one
have nightmares or be afraid of certain things because of the way the film was portrayed.

doesn't know and it is possible she truly doesn't, but we can see in her face that wants it to be true. We see the pain in her face and her desire to be

go. She is nearly dragged out of the room, but breaks free to run back to Hannibal's cage and retrieve her case files. The visual style up to this point
in the scene has been dark, but when Clarice rushes to the cage, there is light illuminating Hannibal. Clarice running towards this light represents her
search for peace. She is hoping the clues left by Dr. Lecter in the case files will enable her to catch the killer, save the kidnapped girl, and stop the

Silence of the Lambs is viewed as one of the greatest horror–thriller films, as it has won Academy Awards in all the top five categories: Best Picture,
Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and Adapted Screenplay. Some of the people in our ART 105 class might not even want to see this movie
due to its realism of such a dark and painful story, as well as some of the graphic material shown. This movie, however, is one of the best horror films
of the century, in my humble opinion. I enjoy this movie thoroughly and often watch it in my spare time, so I have plenty of opinions on every aspect
of this movie.
During this entire movie, all the main characters, to me, were all very interesting, as the two(ish) antagonists are, to this day, traumatizing those who
see them without having seen the movie. Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), the protagonist, is a very hard worker who is blunt and concerned more

Cinematography has the potential to be so much more than just a means to tell a story. When applied correctly, cinematography has the capability of
being like a work of art hanging in a museum. Cinematography is also able to give a depth and feeling to a film that would otherwise not be possible.
While all movies must use a camera to merely exist, few professionals have mastered the skill and artistry that cinematography can become. Two
cinematographers that I feel use the camera as a paint brush and their subjects has a canvas are Michael Ballhaus, known for his work in Martin
Scorsese's Goodfellas, and Tak Fujimoto, known for his work in The Silence of the Lambs. Both cinematographers utilize the power of various levels
of close–ups, medium and long shots, various camera angles, jib and tracking movements, pan and tilt, and focus – just to name a few. While both

The title has a very deep meaning behind it. We think of lambs as soft, fragile creatures that need to be protected. We don't like to picture them

Silence of the Lambs focuses on two main characters with problematic mental disorders: Hannibal Lector and "Buffalo Bill." Both of these characters
appear to have anti–social personality disorder (ASPD). Based on diagnostic criteria from the DSM 5, significant impairments must be present in
personality functioning as well as interpersonal functioning. This can be present in either identity or self–direction. These ideas of self–functioning are
focused on personal gratification from goals and self–esteem, and result from personal gain, power, or pleasure. This characteristic is present in both
characters, as they feel a sense of pleasure and gain from killing their victims. Hannibal Lector would eat body parts of his victims, and Buffalo Bill
would collect the skin of his victims. This also demonstrates the characters failing to conform to lawful, ethical behavior. Next, interpersonal
functioning impairments are present in empathy or intimacy. Empathy is the lack of feelings or remorse for others, which is vividly seen in Hannibal
Lector's scenes throughout the movie. For example, after Lector has killed the police officers in his cell, he stands around, swaying as music plays,
content with what he has just done, instead of feeling bad or guilty about the murders. In Buffalo Bill's home, the senator's daughter is seen trapped a
well–like structure, screaming for help. Meanwhile, Buffalo Bill acts oblivious to her suffering and is not affected or remorseful about it. The DSM 5
also describes those affected by antisocial personality disorder as having pathological personality traits in antagonism and disinhibition. While
antagonism has several defining characteristics, callousness and hostility are present throughout the movie, as well as disinhibition characterized by
risk–taking behaviors. The other evident qualifications include these expressions not understood as being normative, not due to the effects of substance
or medications, and the characters being over eighteen years old. The only symptom that is not apparent in the movie is whether or not these

for very good reason. Each film consists of scenes that are crafted so unforgettably that the scenes leave each viewer with a sense of awe, shock, and
horror when each scene is carefully examined. The Godfather, distributed in 1972 by Paramount Pictures, was directed by Francis Ford Coppola who in
an interview said in regards to his filmmaking that "If you don't take a risk then how are you going to make something really beautiful, that hasn't
