EXPERIENCE
Senior Scientific Programmer: The Rockefeller University, New York, NY Jan
2015 to Jan 2017
- Designed and constructed web portal for smell disorder survey. This is an
adaptive questionnaire given to users worldwide, in order to collect detailed
information about their medical history and condition.
Technologies used: Django, MySQL, AWS, BootStrap, Jquery, pandas.
- Created portal for molecular connectivity map of the mouse brain. Integrated
gene expression data obtained from the mouse brain from laboratory experiments
with standardised gene expression and connectivity data Allen Brain Initiative
website (http://brain-map.org).
Technologies used: R, Python, Limma, Django, MySQL, JSON, MongoDB.
- Created portal for analysis of RNASeq gene expression data. The portal allows
for analysis of gene expression data as a counts matrix or cuffdiff file. The portal
allows the user to dynamically set factors for using Limma analysis to find DEGs.
Technologies used: R, Python, Limma (Bioconductor), Django, MySQL, MongoDB.
2. Scientific Programmer: Medametrics, New York, NY Oct 2009 to
Jan 2015
- Designed and constructed Chronuxplus, a web-based tool for use in analysis of
large terabyte EEG time-series data sets. This is a Python / Django based
web-application, with a C++ / GPU based backend for efficient parallel
computation. The application accepts user parameters for spectral analysis, and
then performs some numerical computations using the Python packages numpy,
scipy and spectrum, before submitting a task to a Celery worker process listening
in on a Rabbit MQ server.
Technologies used: Python, Django, Matlab, C++, CUDA, GPU, RabbitMQ,
Celery.
.
Programmer: Seattle Biomedical, Seattle, WA Sep 2008 to Oct 2009
- Involved in the SSGCID project by the Structural Genomics Consortium for large
scale characterization of pathogenic proteins.
Technologies used: C#, .NET, SQL-Server.
Programmer: Standard Insurance, Portland, OR Jan 2007 to Sep 2008
- Project leader in project for merger of Standard Insurance with Investmart, based
in NY. I was involved in creating the interface that provides users with an interface
for early withdrawals of their retirement benefits.
Technologies used: J2EE, JAVA, JSF, JSP, EJB, Websphere, Oracle.
Masters Thesis: OHSU, Portland,OR Aug 2006 to Dec 2006
- Created a web services tool for retrieving data for genetic sequence analysis.
Technologies used: JAVA, JSP, Struts, MySQL, WSDL.
Programmer: Freightliner, Portland, OR May 2004 to Jun 2006
- Project leader for the NAFTA project. I wrote the module that calculated tax rates
needed to be calculated for transactions related to border crossings under the
NAFTA agreement.
Technologies used: J2EE, JAVA, JSF, JSP, EJB, Websphere, DB2.
Programmer: Nike, Portland, OR Apr 2003 to Apr 2004
- Involved in the Apparels division for an internal project. Built the UI for custom
designing apparels manufactured by Nike.
Technologies used: JAVA, Javascript, JSP, Struts, Oracle.
Programmer: Pacificorp, Portland, OR Sep 2001 to Apr 2003
- Involved in project for calculating savings when switching to green energy. The
publicly available web interface allowed users to calculate their cost savings based
on rate of energy usage and time of day of the usage.
Technologies used: JAVA, Javascript, JSP, Struts, Oracle.
