ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Distributed Computing of Geo-Spatial Operations(HDFS 2.6.0, Apache-Spark 1.2.0, Java EE, Spark Api) September 2015
Currently working on implementing Geo-Spatial operations like, Convex Hull, Geometric Union, Closest points, farthest
Points, Spatial Join queries and Spatial Range Queries on a large set of data points containing millions of records.
Implemented the distributed cluster using One Master and Two slaves configuration.
Implementing Database Fragmentation Techniques September 2015
• Implemeted Databse Fragmentation Techniques of Horizontal and Vertical Partitioning, and Round-Robin Partitioning.
Implemented Partitioning on 10 million records of Movie Dataset. Used PostgreSql open source Relation Database and
Python Scripting Language. Tested and validated the Completeness, Disjointness and Reconstruction Properties of Database.
Movie Recommendation System(Java, MYSQL, CSV) April 2015
• Implemented Collaborative filtering algorithm to predict the rating for a movie by a user. Used the above metric to
Recommend movies to that user. Used Cosine Similarity approach because of sparse data to find similar users and K-nearest
neighbors approach to predict final rating.
• Implemented on a movie data set of 10 million records, with an error correction of 0,+-1 ,+-2 and +-3
Service Oriented Web Application-RESTFULL and SOAP Services November 2014
• Developed composite SOAP/WSDL and RESTFULL Services and exercised service deployment, service discovery, remote
binding, and application composition in C# and ASP.NET.
• Developed a website Application which has TryIt pages for Login, Registration, Add to cart services and implemented
concepts like DLL libraries, Forms Security(authorization and authentication), cookies, session management and user
controls. Implemented XML as database, and various XML related technologies like XML Schema validation, XML
processing, XPATH and XSLT. Hosted the application and the services on IIS and WebStrar server.
Item-Set Recommender(Java, JSON, RESTFUL API) September 2014
