Why We Buy Life Insurance
1. Life insurance is about
taking care of loved ones.
2. You recognize that life
insurance is for the living.
3. You know that life insurance
is an expression of love and
caring.
4. Life insurance is mortgage
protection.
5. Life insurance provides
cash when it’s most needed.
At the heart of it, if you are like
most people, you do so for five
very good reasons.
We buy life insurance because it
is the best way to protect our
loved ones.
The process can
be tough but there
are ways to make
sure you understand
what you’re
buying, and that
you get the product
that best suits
your needs.
Before deciding
which policy is
best, you have to consider a number of factors.
Some of these include: the scope of what
you want to cover, the degree of risk toleration,
the network of medical providers and the
monthly cost.
More Americans are buying their own health
insurance.
Quick Facts on Medicare
 Generally, a person can enroll in Medicare three
months before and after their 65th birthday.
You are known as a Medicare “beneficiary”.
 You will receive your Medicare card
automatically if you are receiving Social
Security or Railroad retirement benefits.
 Medicare has enrollment periods. You must
enroll when you are eligible; however, if you are
working, you may delay enrollment in some
situations.
 You do not have to be currently receiving Social
Security benefits to sign up for Medicare. They
are separate benefits.
 You may not need all parts of Medicare if you
have insurance from your employer and plan to
continue working.

CASH ASSITANCE PROGRAM for
EMPLOYEES (CAPE)
Today, many employees are faced with high
deductibles and other out of pocket costs
associated with a hospital admission plus personal
expenses such as loss of income. For many, an
accident or illness can create havoc with a budget
as well as debt in the thousands of dollars that can
affect the financial soundness of a family for years.
CASH ASSITANCE PROGRAM for EMPLOYEES
(CAPE) is a way to provide needed cash to
employees for illness/accident expenses through
the employer on either an employer paid or
voluntary basis.
 Health Plan Options – Small Group, Large Group, Managed
Care, Self-Funded, Level Funded
 Group Dental
 Group Life Insurance Plans
 SIC Also Offers – Short/Long Term Disability, Retirement
Plans (401k, SEP, etc.), Wellness Plans, and Benefit

Just beginning to think
about Long-Term Care?
Here are some questions
to consider…
 What is Long-Term Care?
 Who will need Long-Term Care?
 How much care will be needed?
 Who will provide the care?
 Who will pay for the Long-Term
Care?
Should you purchase your state's minimum
car insurance coverage?
New 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe
MSRP: $40,750
NO
Every state in the U.S. has the ability to set its own state minimum requirements for auto
insurance. The state minimum requirements typically includes bodily injury liability and
property damage. South Carolina’s state minimum limits are:
Bodily Injury $25,000 Per Person/$50,000 Per Accident
Property Damage $25,000 Per Occurrence
Cost for car repairs and damages can add up quickly.
An accident can happen to anyone, don’t be underinsured!
Flood FAQs
 Does flood insurance cover flood damage caused by hurricanes, rivers, or
tidal waters?
Yes, providing that, if confined to your property, the flood water covers at least two
acres. A general condition of flood also exists if two properties are affected, one of
which is yours
 Why do I need flood insurance if I live on a hill and will never get flooded?
Floods can occur in any area, although to varying degrees. If you live on a hill or in an
area that has never been flooded, your risk may be significantly reduced, but it is not
eliminated.
Flooding can be caused by heavy rains, melting snow, inadequate drainage systems,
failed protective devices such as levees and dams, as well as by tropical storms and
hurricanes. Please make an informed decision about the flood risks you face before
deciding not to purchase flood insurance. Talk to your agent for additional details –
you may qualify for a Preferred Risk Policy (a lower-cost flood insurance policy).
www.FloodSmart.gov
I don’t have flood insurance, but doesn’t my
homeowners insurance cover this?
Most homeowners insurance does NOT cover damage or losses from flooding.
Some damage to your property may have been caused by something other than
flooding. Look at your policy and see your homeowners insurance agent for more
information about what types of damage are covered by your policy
www.FloodSmart.gov
Cyber events happen every day
Is your business protected?
Consider the following:
- Your employee accidentally—or
deliberately— sends an email
containing private customer information.
- An employee laptop containing private
customer information is lost or stolen during
travel.
- A hacker gains unauthorized access to your
network and steals private customer and
employee information.
"Only large organizations are targets."
Not true. Cyber criminals do not discriminate and
often target small businesses
Professional Liability
As professionals operate in today’s increasingly litigious environment, you could
easily be subject to allegations by unhappy clients who may feel they’ve been
harmed by their actions or inactions. Travelers 1st Choice+ provides exceptional
professional liability/errors and omissions coverage that can be customized to the
unique risks faced by an assortment of professionals.
 Accounting Professional Liability

omissions for a variety of professional service providers. MPL

where a reasonable standard of care is expected.
